OK, made appointment with a derm on Friday. Will see what he says. He mentions dutasteride on his website, but I don't know if he would prescribe it.

I also kind of need the guidence of someone, since I can't seem to be able to make this decision. I can't judge my hairloss anymore from an objective point of view.

No. You don't seem like your situation has worsened. To me, it looks exactly the same. You might have some slight crown thinning; however, it is just the same as in the "top 2002" picture.
Not all doctors prescribe duta. However, you can get it from the store associated to this site. It's legit.

Man, my hair has thinned 100%! I'm not sure about the top, but even there it looked thicker before. Which also means that I was above baseline and now I'm about the same if not below.

But the hairline neverever was that thin. I know it, because until recently I could gel up my hair and it looked good, now its horrible. I'm not kidding.

On that pic the flash covers the thinning behind. The hairline. Under light I can see straight through it!

Ok, it's been 3 month. Been back on 1mg finasteride since end of May, 1,25mg Proscar since end of June and on RU since August.

My hair looks absolutely horrible!!! Thinned all over, crown has an extremely thin area, scalp showing everywhere, hairline horrible.

This massive loss I'd expect if I'd quit all medication, but not on finasteride, which I have responded so well for 15 years.

The only thing I've noticed in the last few days is that I lose less hair. In June when I rubbed my head with my hand there would always some hairs coming out. I think I've counted 60 or so at a time. There would also regularly be hair on my desk from time to time.

Now I think this has lessened, I rubbed my head for at least 30 seconds and 7 hairs fell out. I do feel that I see less hair fall.

But the thing is my hair fall was never that horrible, even in June. I did see it fall, but not like massively. So I don't know if that even means something. Also what would be the cause? It's too early for RU to work and finasteride didn't do anything in 3 months, now suddenly it would? It can't be Ket, can it? I don't know.

But even if it lessened I do feel that I need to stop the hairloss NOW!!! My head looks horrible and it happened so fast!

Guys, when I rub my head for some time maybe 8 to 10 hairs come out. Among these there are maybe 4 which are extremely short and much thicker than my other longer hair. Tehy don't have a white bulb on them. What are theses and what does this mean?

Dude. Stop panicking.

Like others said months ago, you've got better hair than most people way younger than you back in June. I have worse hair than you at 24 ffs.

It is very possibly that anti-androgens just aren't going to work for you at this point, but damn...you got 15 years of amazing hair out of it. All you can do is keep taking the meds and see what happens. Also, hair that lacks the white bulb on them generally means the hair broke off rather than shed - possibly due to you rubbing your hair.

You are nigh 40 have had basically a teenager's head of hair - error 404, sympathy not found. All you can do now is continue to take the meds and wait for future treatments like the rest of us. Until then,

First of all, finasteride did and still is doing great for you as it has kept your hair at or above baseline for all these years. If you stopped taking the pills then I bet you would see how great it is doing for you, but I'm sure you know that.

I think that playing around with the dosages can definitely cause temporary hair loss/shedding and that could have contributed to your worsened hair status recently. I suggest you get back on the original dosage that worked for you for all these years if you haven't already. Be patient and I'm sure your hair will return to how it was; if not it will stabilize. If you choose to start dutasteride, expect some temporary shedding and worsening of your hair at first too. I truly believe that with these medications, like all medications, consistency is the key to success.

Lastly, keep in mind that all of the success you have had with your hair was done with just taking a pill once a day. If it continues to worsen (which I doubt it will get much worse if you're on an anti-androgen) you can always get a hair transplant or you can wait for some of these new promising treatments to come out.

Yeah well didn't it take you around a year to notice it had worsened when you lowered your dosage? Maybe it will take another year to notice that it is improving again.
