Going Blonde Mean Going Bald??????

Guys, Ive been recently on a lifting supplement for a couple weeks now, it is nothing new for me, I have been on and off supplements for years not and have not encountered any problems. But lately my hair is thinning, even before going on a Supplement. But now my hair is turning somewhat blonde in certain areas, mainly in the whole front portion of my hairline and a little in the back. Does this mean that I am going to lose the hair in the areas of color change???? I figured it might be due to sunlight although i have never experienced that before. I called the people at Dermmatch and talked to a suposvie "specialist" who told me pigment issues have nothing to do with hair loss, but i am still worried. A friend of mine told me that when you start to lighten in areas of your hair you will lose it. I dont know what to believe. Is this a sign of baldness to come, and if so, within how long of a period before it starts falling out???

Thanks!

The only question I can really ask you is,

Does Male-Pattern Baldness run in your family?

It could be. I new some people that had that but had full head of hairs but I'm not sure. Do you notice any thinning? Could you post a pic?

Yeah...but the thinning has progressively happened over the last 6 months...it hassnt really gotten any worse, just is dry maybe because of the derm and is now turning blonde in the front area and in other parts of my hair...Im just a lil worried its a sign of impending doom!!...any articles or facts behind this..or am i just worrying??

My hair in my male pattern baldness afflicted areas has continued to lose pigment, so if you've noticed thinning in addition to the less pigment then I'd say it's cause of miniturization process of male pattern baldness.

I have seen some photos of myself from about 8 months ago, and it seemed like my hairline was way better, but blondish in the places where I now dont have anything.

As hairs start to miniaturize they become less pigmented. I would try to get on something if I were you. The sooner the better

It means you're losing hair in that area...

When my hairline started to recede its color got a light shade of blonde...

What? How could you offer this?

Chillnotyet, do exactly what your name says. Chill.

Go to a doctor and ask for a diagnosis of male-pattern baldness. If not, then don't get on Propecia. There's no need to mess up your hormones. If it's yes, then get Rogaine and Nizoral shampoo.

You hopefully know this, but how your face looks (who in your family you resemble) has nothing to do with the baldness genes you inherit (or don't). I resemble more closely my maternal grandfather but I wish I had his hair.

Yeah i know that....I made an appointment to see a Doctor. I talked to a few who said that pigment issues dont have anythin to do with hairloss. I dont know. I am already on Propecia. I picked up the Nizoral and the Rogaine as well just havent started them yet. I guess I ll wait and see what the doctor says. How much time do you think i have before I start to shed the blonde out. Basically the entire front of my hair is blondish color now...so am i screwed??

Check for diameter difference with hair from another "safe" (non blondish) part of the head. Take one hair from the hairline and the other one, put them over a white paper and compare.

Also check if your new blonde hair curls more than your other "safe" hair from the top.

If it´s so, it´s more than probable you´r starting to thin and develop male pattern baldness, because those are clear signs of follicle miniaturization, the main event at male pattern baldness.

By the way, Hasn´t anyone noticed how kids and early teens have those blondish, thinner hairs at the temples that they lose quickly at late teens??? How the hell do you explain that??

I´ve observed that many many kids got them. Even women have thinner hair at the temples, but it seems to never fall out. How can you have hair of different diameters without having male pattern baldness??. Isn´t this a kick in the very heart of the hormone related male pattern baldness standard theory??

WOW thanks.....couple things....how long after the hair molicule starts to minituririze and blonde does it usualy take to fall out...Am i looking at Months here, Days, weeks, hours, Minutes???? also once the hair has already started to turn is there any way to save it..or is it a lost cause. I am currently on Propecia for the past 6 months although i encountered this problem while being on it. Also my hair doesnt look any thinner then before just lighter, and its not around the temples. Like the whole front portion of my head though. Is there a chance this is not a cause of male pattern baldness...but my hair is alot drier then before..it feels like crap to be honest almost like i have DERM in when i dont..i guess IM kind of in denial. I see a doctor Friday, but is there anythin I can do now??? thanks again everyone...its tough i have never delt with this problem before i find myself checking my hair in every mirror. This really sucks!!

mmmm.... if it also feels drier... the hair in my thin areas seems also dry when touched.

The definite proof is when you start to see more scalp through the hair. Check and compare with other zones in your hair. I strongly recommend you to take pics instead of checking in the mirror.

The pace at wich male pattern baldness occurs is not a maths problem, some ones bald quickly, some others very very slow over life. The only known fact is that is that it will never go back by his own. A pain in the ***, I know, but that´s how we party in the male pattern baldness world.

Based on my own observation, I think that frontal/temporal baldness can go very quickly, it goes faster than the sufferer reaction. The miniaturization seems to start faster in front than other zones, like top or vertex.

Check the forum for all the people´s complaints about how they could mantained more hair if they have started their treatments earlier.

It is said, and I agree, that the first step in hair loss treatment should be finasteride and nizoral. You have to stay on them for a full year, before any judgement on your results.

You have a good chance of mantaining (this is where drugs are good at) and probably thicken most of your thinned/lightened hair, because you seem to have caught it pretty soon. You´ve made a very intelligent move by coming here at the first sign, mate. A lot of people stays in denial for too long...

Perhaps you meant to quote Robert Frost :p. Made more popular by the book "The Outsiders" and more recently as a album title for New Found Glory? :p

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

i dont know but i do however see that some of these balding guys (some seem homosexual) do dye their hair blond for some reason, even when their balding, like jacques villeneuves. the race car driver.

A very astute observation.
