Going to an older night club

Me and my bro went to an older nightclub (over 25s only) last weekend and you would think there would be lots of baldies - WRONG! I see so many older guys (over 40s) with full heads of hair and it made me very angry. Also I was quite drunk and when you get drunk you stop thinking rationally and then I start taking out my frustrations out on everyone around me. I wish there was some way to control this anger but how? Maybe stop drinking and go clubbing sobre? But then I wouldn't have any confidence as alcohol gives me confidence so its a catch 22 situation. Its not fair that older guys (my uncle is 61 and has a full head of hair) then there's me the only person out of all my friends and family whos totally bald at 29 - f*****g sucks!

Recently I've been to several places (not nightclubs) where every guy was balding, all in their 20s. It was kinda fun since I felt like I had more hair than most of them LOL.

As for nightclubs, don't go. Waste of time.

Dave if you're gonna go to a nightclub with the intention of chatting up women then you need to drink moderately.

A few drinks makes most people more interesting and definitely helps with girl chat, but too many and you become a drunken mess which will only repel women.

It's important to strike that balance, read any "game" artist's book and they will tell you the same thing.

Also research shows that 1/3 of men are suffering male pattern baldness by the time they are 30, while 50% suffer by the time they are 50.

Though obviously I can appreciate it is difficult having aggressive hairloss when you're in your 20s.

Nothing gives me that just kicked in the balls feeling more than some sixty year old man with a full head of hair smirking at my bald head like he is better than me.

A big part of the problem for me is the fact that almost everyone around me has a full head of hair. I might see a couple of bald guys during the course of any given day but guys like me are still rare enough to stand out from the crowd. I'd estimate just by my own observation that bald guys constitute less than 10% of the population where I live. I hate being forced to be different due to conditions beyond my control.... I just want to fit in, to look normal and blend into society but I can't. It all comes down to conformity.

That don't make sense, is it not that only 1 out of 10 men suffer from premature hair loss? so how come every guy you saw was loosing? the balding young guys i see are usually few and far between so maybe you accidentally wandered into a club for balding men.

Well as I stated earlier about 1/3 men is at some stage of male pattern baldness by the time they reach 30...

If you go to a club full of 18-21s then yes you'll probably be one of the few men there with hairloss, however if you go to a place for 25+ then it's safe to say that at least 20% of the guys in the club will have hairloss. These stats are all backed up by research.

I know it may feel like you're all alone, but you're really not.

As Primo said it is not 1 in 10, it is more like 25 to 35%.

As you approach 50 it is usually 50% or more.

And for the record I wasn't in a club, I was at some other events where there were about 20-30 males in their 20s mostly, and every one of them had hairloss save 2 or 3.

Yeah above 50 it is like 50% or more but 80% of them would have acceptable hairloss for their age and be NW2-NW3.

You have to remember the club is a skewed environment as mostly only good looking people try their luck there.

I know you are trying to make the OP feel better with those statistics but they are misleading, as MPBSUX pointed out. The fine print says "some degree of hairloss" so a slightly receeded hairline counts as that and in your thirties, forties and such, this minimal hair loss is hardly detrimental. As I stated before, the actual percent of men who experience rapid and severe hairlos, ie. nw5 in their early to mid twenties is much lower.... around 10 to 15%. Not good.

Anyway... I take your point about "degrees of baldness" although I think generally 18-22yr old night clubs are very superficial places as said above and as a 24yr old I do feel out of place in these clubs now, with or without hair.... The only people I know who continue to go to these places into their late 20s is that tiny minority of men blessed with good hair + good skin who look way younger for their age... but they're only there to pick up some young, dumb, c***-eyed sl*ts anyway.... If you had any other purpose I don't see why you'd want to go to these clubs, they're not very enjoyable for anything else.

Whenever I go out in London where the crowd is usually older 23+ I observe there are many more men with NW3-5 baldness and even the guys who have NW1 seem to have sh*t looking wrinkly skin, either poor genetics or lifestyle not sure, but the point is if you go to places for 23+ you probably won't be outcasted for simply not having enough hair because most other folks don't look physically perfect by the time they're 25 either.

Yeah i agree its the same were i live in liverpool. Its rare to see some one bald under 23 but seems to be more common as someone reaches 25. The vast majority of people that go out clubbing are between 18-23. Its seems to me that this age range is physical perfection as in no signs of aging and looking your best. When i go out clubbing now i feel kinda old and im only 26. On the other hand if i go places like the pubs and bars i feel more normal.

Well this club was over 25s only and i didn't see hardly any bald guys. I prob saw 1 or 2 who was bald but in their face they looked about 50! That is what angered me the fact that there are all these older guys with lots of hair and then there's me still in my 20s with nearly all my hair gone. I know its not their fault but it just angered me! I guess in the future i won't be drinking as much as i did that night.

When i am sobre I always have a much possitve outlook and i always say to myself that there are loads of bald guys that can get their share of nice *** because ive seen it with my own eyes! Its all about confidence and having the right attitude that always helps with pulling girls. But then when i go out and have too much to drink then that positive outlook goes out of the window and i start thinking that because Ive got no hair then that guy over there with hair is more likely going to pull the girl than i am. I guess thats what drink does :(

Thats exactly how it is.I just cant imagine how difficult it must be for you as I haven't yet developed a visible bald spot but there is no point in blaming the drink or yourself for that matter....You are just hurting your own self confidence and people out there in clubs are like Hyenas who wouldn't mind one bit seeing a guy depressed and low on confidence.I agree anybody who goes bald is in soem way crippled but at least we got to take a stand for ourselves :)

If it is that rare, then if you get a good hairpiece while you are still young, no one will suspect you.

And as for the 20 years = 20%. 40 years = 40%. how do they know? Do they go around looking under everyone's hat? Do they assume the sample they see outside includes everyone, including hermit baldies? Do they pole people? Who decides what is moderate hair loss? I don't trust that statistic.

Seems like the modern Western lifestyle many of us lead causes premature aging - probably the ones with good genes are able to overcome that. I'm almost 23 and feel like I've aged 10 years in the past 2 years (obv. the thinning hair but in general as well).
