few questions if you don't mind:

where on the norwood scale are you?

how old are you?

do you apply the RU all over your head?

once a day or twice?

how much of a pain is it to apply? do you have it in a cream or a liquid?

1. Right now I am somewhere aroung 1.5

2. I am 22

3. I apply Ru all over my head

4. It is very easy. I have my solution in a spray bottle. I spray it in like 6 places on my head parting my hair then I use my fingers and rub it all over. Takes 30 secons tops. I do it once a day.

Hey Newbaldy, i saw earlier that you use vodka in your RU blend. What kind of vodka do you use? And what about the PPG? Where do you get that? CCS, I'm assuming you get both alcohol and PPG from chemistrystore.com, am I right?

I bought PPG from ebay and vodka from some chemistry website that CCS told me about.

Ok, Newbaldy, I checked out the ebay thing, so did you get the PPG for cigar humidifiers?

If you or CCS could help me figure out a good everclear substitute for grain alcohol I would really appreciate it. I assume the chem. website you were talking about it chemistrystore.com which i can't find any vodka on there. Does anyone know if I can't find everclear, what is a good substitute grain alcohol? I live in Cali so I can't get Everclear. I want my family to ship me some from Texas but can you ship alcohol without problems?

I apply it right after I shower. I dry my hair just a little so tha hair is still moist and then apply RU.

RU is on its way to Goingat20 and Mgmt. I used air mail for australia.

I'm at my sister's in california for 6 days, so I knew if I did not get it done today, it would really be late, so I got it done. I used a little extra ethanol and propylene glycol, probably 18mL instead of 15mL. but there is 0.5g of powder in the solution. A small amount of it clumped in solution. It is yellow.

well guys, i'm nervous but tomorrow I'm going to take the plunge and wire money for RU 58841. Thanks guys for answering all my questions, especially Newbaldy for showing me where to get the PPG and alcohol (just put in an order for those too)

Still nervous about it because of the price, but I NEED a good antiandrogen to replace topical dutasteride (hopefully with no sides, fingers crossed)

Owense said a new batch will be ready on Jan. 10 and should get to me by like the 17th or something.

Well, if i quickly find out the RU gives me unbearable sides, I'll try to sell it I guess, so people like Newbaldy or anyone else who uses RU or is interested I might try to sell in a few months (hopefully not)

Question also, has anyone had trouble mixing the RU? over on HLH one poster said he was having trouble with RU solublity, and just could not get it to TOTALLY dissolve. Anyone experienced it?

I will give you some advice. This is what I've done. It would be good idea to store the powder in airtight box (I bought one from ebay for like 10$) When it comes to solution I keep mine in little plastic box so it's kept in the dark and I keep it in the refrigerator. I had no troubles with dissolving RU.

I really hope you will see good results. You really should start seeing something after 3-4 weeks. In my opinion Ru kicks ***

Hmmmm.... about the airtight box, wouldn't just a few airtight bags in the freezer work well enough?

I'm also assuming with the solution, you used some kind of old minoxidil bottle and dropper or something to keep it in right? Also, what did you use to separate the RU into however many grams to put into solution?

I could have used a very sensitive scale, but I was in a hurry. There were 2 5 gram bags. I held one up and spread the powder out so there was the same amount per inch along the bottom. I then meased 1/10th of the length, since each 15mL bottle need 0.5g. I then pinched off the 1/10th, and put a spoon in there and scooped it away from the rest. I memorized how much was in the spoon. I layed the bag flat and peeled it open enough to catch any powder that fell when I put the 0.5g into the 30oz bottle. I special ordered the bottles. They were about 50 cents each. Half the powder fell back down, but I just scooped it back up and put it in. then I added PG, shook, then added everclear, capped, and shook some more. Most dissolved, though there were a few small clumps. I tapped the cap so it could not open, then wrapped it good in toilet paper to make a big all, then stuffed it and many scaps of cardboard and other stuff I had laying around for extra insulation. I then taped the box shut and mailed it. My only mistake was not keeping the PG and everclear in the freezer before hand. I'll do that with future batches.

Yeah, using many air tight bags is pletny good enough. That's what I use.

well, everybody, i finally did it and took the plunge and sent money out for RU. I felt like crying as i handed over $390.00 for RU, but I had to keep telling myself it is worth it to find out if it works with no sides. Here's hoping I won't be on dutasteride for much longer

15 years is a long time? Do you know the Long LIFE TERM effects of DHT reduction or follicile manipulation by increasing the size of blood vessels to a hair follicle? No you do not. have you ever thought that by increasing the blood vessels to your hair follicles that you might be increasing other blood vessels in the brain or other vital organs like your heart (chest pains ring a bell?) How about increasing your chances for terminal prostate cancer? (last part is true, according to a study I read 2 years ago)

No one really knows what serious role DHT plays in a mans body at different ages in different periods of life or the true effects caused by manipulating it with chemical compounds.

I have a question for the experts on this forum. If I were to try the RU and obtained results, would I have to continue using RU to maintain those results as you do with the other meds, or could I possibly use finasteride to hold on to the increases. I am not fully comfortable on the long term use of RU, no one really knows what it can do to you. Any educated guesses?

BTW... I am currently using Rogain Foam, Retin-A and finasteride, but have a spot in the back that is not responding so far, maybe it will eventually but would like to speed up the progress if possible with RU.

Im waiting to hear back from a guy in my city who uses RU, i went in on some RU with him like 6 months ago, and used it for almost 2 months and could have sworn i was seeing results. I just didnt want to bother with the hassle and i was applying other topicals,ect.
