Well I have had a huge forehead my entire life. It never bothered me cause i had a great head of golden blonde hair. People were always saying I was going bald but I just shruged it off and assumed it was the large forhead. My dad is slick bald, and has been since his early 20's. That shoulda sounded alarms but i just never paid attention. I am now 21 and have been getting more and more comments. Then about 2 weeks ago it hit me like a punch it the gut, "holy f*** im going bald". I still have moderate coverage all over but its thin at best and i can see my pink scalp. It seems to be thinning evenly everywhere and I can see the outline of the dreaded horseshoe. Also the hair on the top of my head doesnt look as healthy as it once was, and doesnt grow half as fast as the sides. I cant believe i never noticed earlier, I cant decide if I was in denile or just plain stupid. I think I may have been thinning for at least a year or 2.
I went to the Doctor almost the next day, after some research, and she gave me a prescription for finasteride. Well I have now started my regime of 1/4 proscar daily and nizoral every 3 days. My goal is to maintain what I still have, and hopefully thicken it up a bit. Im going to give the finasteride at least a year, I really dont want to use minoxidil cause it sounds like a pain in the ***. Also thinking about buying or making a lazercomb, as thickening would be nice.
If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. I cant belive how wored up about this I am, I havent been happy since i noticed and its always in the back of my mind now.
Well it has been 6 weeks on the finasteride and went through a moderate shed, not really concerned about it. If im going bald i wanna skip the whole intermediate stage and just be totaly bald. Anyways, I think the crown is worse but the temples have stayed almost the same. I dont have a bald spot persay, but its direly thin.
It seems Im not too upset that im going bald anymore, Im just mad i never noticed earlier and that its hapening and Im 21. Ive come to the conclusion that It happened really quick. Im thinking of starting minoxidil, but I camp, sail, and generaly dont come home everynight so i dont think i can keep up the routine. Im hoping that this time next year that the thin spot wont be thin any longer.
