Hello,

I'm just 19 years old. We have plenty of bald people in our family tree. Fortunately, my father is not bald. But recently, i've noticed that my hair is falling. It's been 6 month since. Interesting is that my growing hair are falling - when my hair are after a haircut, only short hair falls but after a month when they grow a bit - long starting to fall. Is this normal? Because i thought that only dead hair fall, but in my case alive hair are falling? I couldn't find any similiar info in google about this. I wash my hair everyday almost because my head gets itchy very fast if i dont'...

Edit: Added photos

First two are before washing hair, others are after washing

This... I was convinced I didn't have the gene for male pattern baldness until I started losing around 26. Made the mistake of assuming since my father wasn't bald, my uncle wasn't bald (and he died in his 80's with a full head of hair) and one of two male cousins isn't bald (one is) that I dodged a bullet. One of the men I didn't factor in was my grandfather on my mothers side who indeed had male pattern baldness (died long before I was born) and conventional wisdom says you'd be better off looking at your mothers father then your own father.

Interestingly i'm living with my best friend and he has the same relationship. Father has a full head of hair in his early 50's but he's going bald in his late 20's and his mother father had the classic male pattern baldness horseshoe. Completely bald on top. Genes are a b**ch... Really is luck of the draw.

I added photos to the main post

No, my mother's father is not bald, he still has some hair at the age of 70... My father's brother is though (got bald very young )... And i believe my brother's hairline is also thinning ( he is 6 years older )

Your hair is minituarizing and shedding because of male pattern baldness. You're definitely balding.

My fathers dad had great hair when he passed, and my mothers father was pretty much totally bald at the age of 22. I am 24 now with thin hair but a lot of it, with just recession. I am lucky but still unlucky to be receding at such a young age.

So i should start my treatment already and visit a specialist ASAP to slow this?

I dont know if this has any importance but i can say that my full body is very hairy... My legs are one of the hairiest and my beard grows super fast, i know that some guys don't need to shave for three days at such age, but i have to do it daily unless i'm not going anywhere

to OP, dont take such posts as this one as gospel. People on this forum cant wait to tell people they have hairloss and need to start on propecia. I think such people already are reliant on the poison Propecia so they cant wait to ruin other peoples life cuz their is ****ed up beyond any repair.

Thanks for that, well looking at my pictures i'm not sure if i'm really balding, but seeing like 30-40 hair falling when i wash my hair ( everyday) does give me some concern.
