It seems like you just like telling people they're balding

:(

Not at all, I just think everyone deserves a fair shot at treating their baldness and the sooner you come to terms with it, the sooner you can treat it.

So you comento a hairloss forum to ask if you're balding, I tell you you're balding, and now I like telling people they're balding? Please

Imo the shape of his hairline has changed a bit in the last three years and the vertex is also diffusing. But I have been called a scaremonger quite a few times, so you should take with a grain of salt what I am telling you ;)

Are we telling the truth here or are we trying Not to hurt people feelings? Ppl need to grow a pair

look at the thinning on the left temple. katy perry better jump on finasteride asap, textbook male pattern baldness!

while we want to tell the truth, we also have to be careful of becoming "hyper-norwood spotters". every little imperfection in hair is instantly "male pattern baldness, you're fucked!" everyone has different hair and everyone has spots where you can see scalp.

i'm still waiting on an explanation of why you can clearly see the exact same thin spot THREE years ago with no change, in the photo he provided. if he had early male pattern baldness three years ago, shouldn't he be a nw3 by now?

he is better off not poisoning his mind with this hair loss sh*t.

I must be blind, because Katy perry doesn't have miniaturized hairs all along her hairline.

Anyways I'm not here to hurt OPs feelings, he wanted opinions, got a bunch of mixed answer so I wanted to reassure him.

If you think this picture doesn't show signs of male pattern baldness then I have nothing to say to you

Those small hairs have been there for a long long time and in fact that's why I got my barber to shave the hairline in that 3 year old photo.

What's to say those hairs have always been like that and they're not just random hairs sprouting out past my main hairline?

First of all I'm not a doctor, so as another member said, you should be taking ALL opinions with a grain of salt. BUT you can go ahead and cut your hair as you did 3 years ago, this alone will answer your questions Good luck

Everything about your hair reminds me of my brother in law, the hairline, the colour, the texture and the density. He is 40 this year. A couple years ago he was bending over and being the norwood spotter I am I got to examine his scalp closely. His hair was the same length as yours. Anyway, I could see a lot of scalp and at the time thought "hmmm maybe he is diffusing". Fast Forward a year he shaved his head and what he revealed was a glorious NW0 like yours with uniform density all over. He is simply not balding and just has naturally fine hair and I think there is every chance you could be in that category given your age, the perfect shape of your hairline and the fact u always had sparser hair above that one temple that concerns you. Keep an eye on it but whatever happens you have a sh!t load of time and options if indeed you actually are thinning.

Very helpful response

I think my hair is fine but coarse which makes it look a little different.

Hoping all is well as there seems to be very limited balding in my family especially on my mother's side

An interesting photo I found. Me, in 8th grade. Take a look above my left eye here. It's fairly evident the hair grows in a completely different direction.

Wonder if that has anything to do with what I'm noticing now?

Bumping this with a few more photos...

That one spot is still an issue but otherwise I don't think anything has changed.

Really think it might just be the way my hair grows...

I also sometimes line up my front hairline which explains the tiny hairs sprouting there again.

I agree with @g.i joey. It does in fact look like thinning..
If I were you I'd visit a dermatologist and get it sorted out because when people give you their opinions you just seem to reject it (Unless it is something you agree with)

Where though?

How does it compare to the older photos?

Compare your hairline with the midsection of your scalp. The hairline is more thin than at the midsection.

Let me give you a concrete example. IMG_3114.PNG
The hair is thicker in some places more than others.

We are not trying to be rude, we are just stating the obvious. You should be happy that we are truthful, and move on with what to do next...
Still suggest you should visit a dermatologist

The photos under brighter lighting tells more. You're thinning but a typical slow burner given your age. You really need to compare the thickness to when you're younger(20's) and not 3 years ago. It's perfectly normal to recede and thin as we get older, although many would say it's still male pattern baldness. What it is, is hairloss. You need to look closely at the hairs in the thinning are and compare to the thicker areas, you should be able to tell the thickness between individual strands. I'm in the same situation as you, but mine is easy to tell from photos. You should visit a derm, since I'm sure you're concerned being on this site.

Whether or not you want to risk treatments at this point is entirely up to you. You might stay that way for quite some time. Your hair still looks great.
