Growing out minoxidil hairs ( vellus )

ive been using rogain foam on my hairline only for the past 8 months, i have gotten some decent regrowth but mostly only vellus hairs, i usually have my barber line up my hairline so they always get cut short. Now i am trying to grow my hair out and wonder if the vellus hairs will grow or will they just stay short? here is a picture.

My recommendation based on limited knowledge is wait a full year (another five months) and re-evaluate fully then.

If you have severe finasteride side effects, stop.

What's the actual evidence for dermarolling?

Are you suggesting it only because it enhances minoxidil absorption?

i dont think youre even balding
your hairline is extremly low, you are NW1 and your hair beyond it is extremely thick
those vellus hairs will not thicken up because they arent even suppose to be there
if you think you are balding stick on finasteride just in case, but these hairs will not thicken up.. look at women hairlines and you will see the same kind of vellus hairs in these areas

True. If someone hits NW1 and its not progressing. It doesnt mean that someone is Balding. My friend bumped NW2 at 17 years old. He is 24 and still NW2 Without any regimen. Like his dad.

After your photos i think you're not Balding at all. Everyone hits NW1 when puberty/mature ages jumping in. I think its natural way. the big majority receede to NW1 and a big part progress to NW2 and stop there for life, or decades, like a timeline photo i posted from charles manson, the guy receeded ALOT at twenties he was clearly nw2 and now at his 70-80 i dont know, he still has the same hair, i think is even better than before lol
the OP is a very thick NW1 look that the part with vellus hair is the part that make his hairline "rounded" even kids dont have a thick rounded hairline, this part of hairline is very thin and almost every man and even women lose these vellus hair as they grow adult
but hair loss is hair loss and we dont have a crystal ball to see what is going to happen if we wont prevent it.
maybe the guy is balding(i dont think so), but this isnt even the beggining he is nw1 and his hair is thick, ppl should worry at nw2 imo, and nw2 still a very good hairline, even cooler than nw1 in some cases, but after that is doom, so is a valid point prevent beyond that with dht blockers..


in 1948 he was 14 years old nw0, in 1956 has already nw1, 1.5 going straight to nw2
at 1969 he was clearly nw2, after that it totally stopped, in 2011 his hair was cool as fuk for an old man

i appreciate your kind words but, those hairs are supposed to be there, as a matter of fact they were terminal about a year ago, my hairline has been steadily receding since then.
