Hey guys,

I want some advice on my situation. I am 25 yr old. About 1 year ago I noticed that my hair texture started to feel different. I have seen a few professionals, they all say that I have great density and a near juvenile hairline..which I agree I do. However, when I run my hands through my hair it just feels different..also harder to style. The pics attached show what I am talking about..some of my hairs have become fine/wispy. The only person in my family with male pattern baldness is my mother father and his brother..everyone else has full thick heads of hair (i.e. dad, uncles cousins). I do not show any signs of male pattern baldness yet, but I am definitely afraid with the hairs that I have growing in/coming out. I don’t know what to do. I am never taking propecia. I would be willing to go on a preventative mindoxil regime to thicken..and I already use Nizoral twice a week (since may). I have a few other posts explaining my situation w/ pictures. The hair in my pics all the way to the left is a normal thick hair..the other 3 are thin/wispy/fine. Thoughts?

Where are those fine and wispy hairs from, also post pictures of your hairline and scalp.

If nothing changed in your health, the variable seems to be the Nizoral. Get off it for a couple hair cycles 4-6 months and use a nourishing, non-medicated shampoo and conditioner.

It can't be the Nizoral..I felt that my hair texture was different this time last year...I only started Nizoral last month. As for my health I think everything is ok as far as I can tell. I actually went to an endocrinologist in the fall and they did a host of blood tests - all normal.

These hairs are from the back/crown area...however it feels my whole scalp has been effected. I do have an oily scalp with a touch of seborrhea dermatitis but it is nothing severe...

Doesn't have to be severe. Even low level inflammation can effect the outcome of hair integrity. Without looking at your blood tests, I can't say it's anything systemic other then what is causing your scalp dermatitis. If I were a dermatologist, I'd recommend a punch biopsy and evaluate it histologically.
