Hair Dyes for the boys

What's the best hair dye to use for us guys? I'm thinking of dying my hair black, since it's already a dirty dark brown anyway, but dunno what dye to use and how much it'll set me back. Thanks for any responses!

what is Feria?

Its a bit tricky... if you die your hair black, less pigmented hairs will look like terminal. On the other hand you have intense contrast between skin and hair. Is it really worse than going blonde?

Feria is the kind of haircolor I would suggest. It's awesome. Bombscience, I believe, recommended it a while back to another poster.. I tried it, its awesome.

I have lots of density though, so I'm not worried about the diffuse look. I can pull off black I'm sure. Right now I'm at a point where it's just a battle vs. my temples pretty much. Feria you say...

I'd look brutal as a blonde, trust me.

Agreed. Feria is quality. Personally I recommend going to the salon and having it done. It only runs about 30 dollars and they don't make mistakes.

if you have your hair done at a solan can people tell? i've never had it done before and am considering it to hide my gray hair that are coming in.. any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

To be sure no one can tell, get a natural color. Don't go from being a sandy brown to a black. Since guys usually don't have an obvious part in their hair, its easier to hide when the roots show up. When I dye my hair, I usually get it re-done every two months for a medium-long hair style, or every month for a short hair style.

That's also because I've gone from brown to white blonde to black. When you do an unnatural color to you, you need to touch it up once a month. Also, be very specific when telling your stylist what color you want. It helps to have a picture. "Brown" is subjective.

I'm not afraid of people noticing my change in color. It'll be quite obvious when my hair switches to jet black, and I'm okay with that.

I think the non permanent dyes (wash out in 6-8 days) are best for hiding initial signs of grey as they gradually fade and you never get roots showing through at the bottom or a radical colour change.

I just bought a Clairol one which I intend to try out soon.
