I have been down about my hair loss for years, but wearing a cap when necessary, rogaine foam holding and saving the remaining hair, and the ability to work from home/coffee shops all helped limit my bad feelings from getting any worse. In fact I would say I was rarely down in the past year, and generally felt very optimistic this year. Especially with the anticipation of hair cloning etc...
However, recently, I ruptured my achilles tendon. After 7 arduous weeks in a cast and then boot (I chose the non-surgical treatment that is becoming more popular these days, especially if the tear is not too large), I started walking and driving again several weeks before my doctor wanted, and was very happy at my rapid progress. New research suggests faster times to walking so I did not listen to my Doctor! Unfortunately, I had a dumb accident last week, and it seems like I have re-ruptured. My doctor wants me in a long boot for two months now...at the very least, for 6 weeks. Non weight bearing, meaning can't walk or drive or bear any weight on the bad right foot.
I am really down right now. It seems like I can re-rupture yet again if not careful when I come out of the boot, and the physio over the next few weeks will be tough, risky at times, and expensive. I also can't shower properly, and the hair from the scalp is all over my bathroom floor. No motivation to even try and clean anything while on the knee scooter...which creates wet dirt marks all over the apartment floor carpet..but no option since its rainy and snowy outside.
Anyone going through stuff like this? I have no family with me so this holiday season will be the worst ever.
What did you guys do when you had a few hardships come up at the same time? I also have some issues with my family that have been exacerbated recently. Seems like things are falling apart... One more major issue and I will be truly depressed. Right now I still have some optimism.
