Now I've bought Minoxidil, expecting wonders just as my doctor. o_O
Don´t listen to this "doctor" (hope you don´t live in my country, scares me that I might meet one like that with a serious medical problem). Get Generics from some online pharmacy. Fincar is no problem.

Do you have pics from a few months ago, where we can see your Norwood 1? Your loss looks really extreme for that short time.

Here you go. Lost everything in life, including my hair. So depressing don't think I'll last long.

Few months ago ? Yeah, pretty aggressive one, you have my empathy.
If there is one undeniable truth in this world, "Never take your hair for granted"

But hang in man, take medications and don't do anything stupid.

f***, I'm half-bald already. Looks like sh*t, going to lose at least all my frontal hair.

I'm back with a short update.

Found a doctor who was willing to prescribe Propecia for me. Continued to use it despite of different sides, until I beyond doubt had developed slight one-sided gyno that now won't go away. Have tried Minoxidil aswell but it's totally ruining my face with wrinkles. How to choose between three evils? I give up. :(

I still can't put this all together and understand why it all started at the same time as I broke up with my girlfriend. I think it all had to do with stress (I was in a really bad place) and smoking didn't help in that aspect.

Just to be clear - I do understand that this is male pattern baldness but something triggered it like hell.

Yeah, been there, done that. Propecia gave my hardcore insomnia, anxiety and depression so I had to give it up. Minoxidil ruined my face so bad that people were constantly asking if I am sleeping at all anymore. No more mino for me as well. Im using just Nizoral cream 2% right now and waiting for something better to arrive at market.

Smoking can obviously destroy the texture and over all structure of the hairs but I don't think it can cause permanent hair loss or can cause male pattern baldness. I think it is simply the genes in every case, nothing else matters much.

I’m at a loss too. Hopefully someone can reply to me with something I need to hea. I’ve always had long curly hair but I’ve always been a heavy drinker. When I would shower I would try to comb my hair with my fingers and I would pull so much hair out while showering and now over time of doing that I didn’t realize how much I have actually pulled out and now I can see my scalp when I get out the shower and that has stressed me out so much. I just want it to grow back where I pulled it out and it won’t. Help me please!

While smoking is obviously not good for hair due to all the pollutants and Nicotine by itself in high dosages is also probably not good (downregulates estrogen beta so estrogen alpha is more dominant, it is also an aromotase inhibitor) , it won't cause baldness. Permanent baldness is not caused by lifestyle.

Get blood tests to make sure you are not deficient. If everything is fine it may be male pattern baldness.

I did get a blood test and that was fine, all my family seems to have a nice set of hair. My doctor said it was from stress but I have that under control

haha smoking causing male pattern baldness is pure nonsense. There was some study on male pattern baldness and life style that showed identical twins and the one that smoked had worse male pattern baldness. They are blowing smoke at all of us. Yes, twins lose hair at different rates but its because there are genetic differences in their hair and how it responds to androgens.
There was a guy back when I was in college that smoked like a chimney pack a day for his whole life. Guy was like 50 or 60 had every hair on his head like Norwood 1 perfect elvis hair. Died of lung cancer though go figure. His hair was perfectly healthy there is just no way that is possible if smoking caused or contributed to male pattern baldness in any major way. How is that even possible? His hair was immune to smoking even if it was immune to DHT how could that be?
If smoking directly caused male pattern baldness every single man on earth that smoked and maybe even women would be going bald. That is just not true.
