hair loss newbie

hey guys, im 24, been loosing hair the last year and a half. as a background
im a redhead, my moms father was bald, my dads father was bald.
i went on proce*in for 3 months (no effect)
the top of the head (vertex and front temple) is the part thats thinning.

what medication is recommended that is easily applied and no sexual side-effects.

Are you still on propecia? You will not notice regrowth, if any, until at least a year but you will likely maintain what you have by taking finasteride.

Get on some minoxidil (Rogaine Foam or Spectral DNC), and get some Revita shampoo and you'll be on the "BIG 3" of hairloss treatments. That's pretty much the best you can do until about 5 years from now when newer treatments should be out.

The best thing you can do is READ and learn and come to your own conclusion of what's best for YOU. For most, it's the "BIG 3" but you're an individual so make your own decision.

You don,t say if your father was bald ,if he was ,thats strong balding genetics.however a friend's dad was a slick norwood 7 and his mum's dad was also norwood 6 or7 and my friend his a thick norwood 1 and 35 years old.So genetics are strange things,none of my family have male pattern baldness apart from my maternal grandad who didn,t develop it til he was in his 50's.
yet i,m losing it rapidly and am only27.Lost 40 percent in the last year before that was also a thick norwood 1.
