Hair loss only on itchy areas (dandruff)

Hey guys, I didn't know what condition I have wrong with my hair but this sort of happened out of nowhere.

I started having a slight bald patch on one side of my head when I was 17 however it was completely fine when I was 18, 19 and even my early 20's now I'm 21 and it just started accelerating recently in this past year.

I kept researching regular male pattern baldness and I really don't think I have generic male pattern baldness, I have been eating a **** ton of bread products and refined carbs lately which I'm thinking is causing it in some way.

Its only the areas I scratch that are losing their hair the most typically after eating a **** ton of grains or right after a shower My scalp gets super itchy, my elbows, knees, back, neck and legs are itchy as well.

I never thought much of it as I've been itchy as long as I can remember. I remember constantly scratching constant itching sensations on my body since I was 5 years old. Well what do you think is causing my hair loss? I'm wondering if its a skin related issue that I can treat.

Mainly the sides of my head are super thin and I'm contemplating shaving my entire head (too bad I have the worst face to pull off the bald look), ALAS my hair was only pretty in my teens and that was life's cruel way of telling me that those years were my prime time to get laid. If only I knew I would have went a little bit more ham during high school. I'm currently my own worst enemy constantly worrying about it (which is making it worse)

I refuse to even go on the typical social outings I used to go on, its just such a kick to the nuts none of my friends my age have hair loss nearly (if at all) as bad as I do. Good looks used to be my one redeeming quality, without those I don't think I have much else going for me to be quite frank.

It feels hopeless and I'm a little pissed off but I already spent way too much time stressing about it.

My doctor prescribed me rogaine 3 years before which I have stopped using (I only used it for a around 1 month on and off) He didn't even talk to me about other options such as fina or any shampoos I don't even think he gave a ****. He only took one glance at my head and said "Rogaine."

Two that I know that thin sides like that are retrograde alopecia and DUPA (diffused unpatterened alopecia). You honestly don't want DUPA its like the lowest rung of hairloss because your whole head thins so you have no donor hair for a transplant and are less likely to respond to treatments like minoxidil/finasteride. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer here

It could very well be DUPA, I have some random patches on the top of my head too but the way my hair breaks apart seems unnatural in a way. For instance its a couple of strands that get brittle and then they come out. I can tell they come out by the root because they have that white pod attached with them but the quality of the hair looks really weak, malnourished and just fragile. My scalp itches like crazy as well.

I HAVE THE SAME THING AS YOU!!
I would always itch after my shower on my thighs, chest, back, and shoulders. It was horrible. My dad is a doctor and said I probably have psoriasis. I went to a dermatologist and she said that it probably is either psoriasis or a fungal infection. You get can certain creams/antibiotics to cure fungal infections. Unfortunately for psoriasis there are no cures, only treatments.

None of the creams worked for me, so I got blood tests done. I was very deficient in vitamin b12 and iron. I got b12 and iron injections and I have to say the majority of my itchiness around my body has gone away. I still have some dandruff, but it is nothing like it was before. The b12 and iron injections have helped me a lot.

Check for gluten intolerance too since you mentioned eating a ton of bread products. Being highly sensitive to gluten can be a potential cause for hairloss.

Thanks for the pm I do not have any animals but I think mites could be a factor, the house I live in is extremely old and probably has some mold in the walls, my room is rather dusty as well.

Thank you for your advice, I'm going to try going without any gluten for a while or at least cut back on it. I'm already on my 3rd day. It may not be the cause but I wouldn't be surprised either, I often feel sluggish when consuming complex and simple grains.
