Hair loss question

Hi guys, I think I've noticed my hairline beginning to recede for the past few months, but I'm not sure as I've never really checked it regulary. I'm 20 and my father is bald, and I'm wondering whether this is a likely sign of initial male pattern baldness or just a mature hairline? I've attached some pictures of it held back. My hair is pretty full everywhere else currently.Cheers

The most important question other then history is have you noticed any changes like bigger bald spots or less density? You will probably notice before its easily apparent in pictures or even to someone else. If you see it get worse then see a dermatologist especially if you have strong history of it.
My opinion is it looks okay but it depends on what your hair used to look like

Ok thanks. My temples are alright. I'll probably check up on it every few months with some pictures etc. My dad had it mid twenties so if anything I would start noticing it in the next few years.

I do not really believe in mature hairline. I think if it starts it will continue. It is kind of hard to tell I dont see miniaturization.

I've just had a look at the sides of my head and it appears it's starting. Can you confirm this? If so what treatment do you recommend? Cheers

If you had no family history of baldness, then I would say you are most likely getting your mature hairline. However, based on your age and family history, I would assume that you're in the early stages.

What should you do?
1: Talk to your doctor and get bloodwork done. There's a 98-95% chance that you'll be perfectly fine and suffer no sexual side effects. If you're in the unlucky 2-5%, then you have a 98% chance of being just fine if you stop treatment. However, that bloodwork will serve as a baseline that you can try to return to in the unlikely situation that you get long lasting side effects. Think of it like life insurance. You're VERY likely to not need it, but it would suck if you didn't have it.

2: Finastaride, at least .5mg every day
3: Nizoral shampoo.

Go see a good dermatologist, trichologist or hair transplant surgeon. They can tell you if there is any miniaturisation beyond the hairline. Don't guess and needlessly take meds all your life.
