Hey guys,
I came across this study on medline by accident, I was searching for something else...but I thought you guys might be interested. I have seen (and ignored) threads saying stuff like "I use my semen on my head to grow hair" because I thought that people were just being jackasses...but this study suggests the use of Thujae occidentalis semen for male pattern baldness. I don't even know what Thujae occidentalis semen is, but thought I would run this by you guys...if this study is old news, ignore this post, but I've never seen it before. Here's the link:

Thanks for the replies. So why is it not a part of anyones regimen? Is it expensive, hard to obtain, or both?

Luke, there are a few reasons that not many have tried Thuja. First, the general public is unaware that thuja can be used for hairloss. Second, all thuja is not created equal and proper preparation of this extract is key. If one were to try thuja on their own (from GNC, etc), then they would conclude that it does not work. Based on my experience, thuja is quite effective...especially in women. Hope this helps, Dr. Martin

Because 99% of people have satisfactory results on clinically proven well established hair loss treatments ... and if they dont ... they branch off into the unproven realm with the idea in mind that they want to find the most scientifically backed unproven treatment. There are a host of those available.

As far as supplements go, there are tons that could help with the health of your hair. I wouldn't consider it shocking that all of them aren't part of everybody's regimen though. Propecia works great for 83% of people, and with some minoxidil mixed in, you up that percent quite a bit.

Its really an issue of % chance of benefit.

I suppose if you've tried Propecia+Rogaine+Nizoral for 2+ years without results and are still losing your hair ... not only are you in the 5% non responders group (very small!) but then I could see adding random herbs in hopes that something .... anything .... will change the tides for you.
