I've been considering a Hair System for some while now. I'm only 20 years old and I am a Norwood 3-3.5. I've been on my Treatments now for nearly 1 year approaching, (Minoxidil &Propecia). I have seen stoppage of Hair Loss which is great but not much at all in the re-growth department :protest:. I have lost a lot of confidence through my hair loss. I'm probably still young to think about a Transplant as well. Is a Hair System really that good? I mean, could I wake up in the morning get in the shower dry my (full head) of hair :woot: and style it any way I wanted? And not have to worry about it falling of if someone touched or pulled my hair and If it got wet or windy it would not look any different? So I would never have to worry about my receded temples? :woot:. I know you have to go back once every 4 months or something to get a new one put on and stuff like that? I'm in the UK also. Let me know what you think or I you have one or your opinions or something like that? Thanks :)

CRMagico, its all that and more. It exceeded more expectations by a country mile. You can shower and style it. Its very secure and when done correctly very natural looking.

The time you invest in research will pay off as there are few short cuts, but posting is a great start.

Please dont rely on hair clubs or places overcharging as there are plenty in the UK like everywhere else.

Research and you can do it all yourself through self education and safe yourself a lot.

Thanks a lot your replies guys! :) As a 20 year old this would be a big deal to me, I still have a bit of hair but with receded temples and thin frontal hair that I can't even gel up :( It's really hurt my confidence! I would be scared about if you had a girlfriend or something and she found out it wasn't your real hair :O . What happens if I'm playing lots of sports and sweating a lot? Will it make it fall off? Or saying when I'm playing soccer and I'm running fast in to the wind it won't fall of or something? Thanks

I echo what the previous responders have said. With today's adhesives a system absolutely will not come off accidentally. If someone were to pull it you would lose scalp before the piece would release from your head. I have done serious cycling, climbing and waterski-ing in mine, no problems. The issue of girls discovering you are wearing is a different one. If you choose a fine lace piece and you do a good job of applying it, it is possible to keep it a secret from girlfriends for months, so you don't need to disclose to casual dates that you are wearing, or even to medium-term partners. But if you are in a long-term relationship with someone and living with them, you will probably want to tell them, otherwise it is a strain to be always covering your tracks.

In the best interests of our members with scalp seborrhea dermatitis and having this "condition" myself, I think playing devil's advocate to the proposed scenarios above is warranted for those of us who are both afflicted with seb. derm. and hair loss and simultaneously wish to try out a hair system. For me, my case of seb. derm.( nizoral 2% was often helpful) was so chronic that this ideal scenario was not a realistic option. In my case the "adhesive strips" were more convenient, easier to fix in place and relatively easy to remove, but obviously they are not as superior as the aforementioned adhesive and do not serve the average physically active and/ or "suspicious weary" individual very well. In order for me to effectively maintain my chronically inflamed and flaking scalp it was necessary for me to remove my system no less than 1X per week and therefore the preferred practicality of applying a much more superior bond was not a suitable option. In conclusion hair loss persons with seb. derm. have their own separate disadvantages and are confronted with less options when it comes to the hair system question. I can't help but feel some envy to those of you who are not disadvantaged with this insidious scalp disorder. :)
