Wondering if someone could help me out. I dont have pattern balding and my hair is getting thinner all over the top of my head from forehead to crown. Every morning clumps of hair come out but nothing on pillow.
Here is some history,
Started when I was about 21 (27 now) with a lot of dandruff and itching on scalp. I didnt take any action as I didnt notice any hair loss looking in the mirror. This continued and after a few years of it went to the doctor who prescribed Nizoral. I was told to use this 2xweek for 5 weeks. The dandruff and itching stopped and hair loss slowed.
I stopped using Nizoral as instructed after 5 weeks.
Now the dandruff is completely gone, there is some itching on one side of scalp but hair loss has accelerated after I stopped using Nizoral.
I'm not sure what is going on here. Can someone help, what should I do?

Your hair loss is not due to stopping nizoral.. Maybe you are starting to bald? First line of defense treatment should be finasteride.

I rather go bald than lose full penis function.
Anyway is it normal to lose hair after stopping nizoral? When balding is it normal to see dandruff?

I've never experiences dandruff while balding. I wouldn't say its normal losing hair after stopping nizoral either. Fully blown ED is very rare from finasteride. I'm on it and much heavier drugs and my penis works fine lol.

Lol but i cant risk that bro.
My scalp is itching from one side too which i forgot to mention. And its thinner on the side thats itching.
Apart from the penis killer is there something else i could try first? At the moment im using nizoral and castor oil to style. I used taoist soap but thats a fclking scam. 35 quid i paid and it does not do anything.

If you have Seb Derm (like I do), the Nizoral likely kept it under control. When I was first diagnosed with Seb Derm when I was 16, the dermatologist told me that the reason I was losing so much hair was because, if left unchecked, it is an inflammatory condition that will literally choke the hair follicle. All my hairs that came out would have white bulbs on the end.

If you have stopped using Nizoral start it again since it seemed to help you. If you have started using it again and are using the 1% version I'd suggest starting the 2% version, 2-3 times per week. Start with 2 times per week, see how your hair/scalp reacts, ie dryness and if no issues go up to 3 times per week. I personally use the 2% version 4 times a week with no issues, if anything gives my hair a volumising effect.

Thanks for the replies. I am losing about 150 hairs a day so its accelerated slightly.
Im on 2% nizoral too but only use it 2 times a week. Will up it to 3.4 times a week and see if that helps. But im not sure why nizoral worked then stopped working for me after a while?
The itchness is whats most annoying. Is it normal to have itchness while having pattern balding??
