Hi I am a 49 year old male and I have been worried about my hair loss for the last few years, tried tablets , laser helmet etc -never could keep up with the hassle without seeing any improvement results - kept seeing W Rooney , J Travolta etc and wishing I could afford a transplant
Looked at the UK clinics and prices of 4000 fue - 5000 fue treatment was £10,000 + then someone suggested abroad - did some research on the web nightmare ! -loads of horror stories and pictures - some cases of getting transplant in the Dr's house.
But was getting more and more upset a my hair loss - people think as I am nearly 50 - happily married i should just shave it off ! but in 10 years time - I didn't want to be nearly 60 bald grey old man - so I just went for it emailed the hospitals etc
So I picked the best hospital I could find for a reasonable price they quoted £2000 for 4000 - 4500 with fue treatment (after sent my pictures over email)
I had to arrange my own fights £253 return - flew out on 11/03/14 - all transfers and hotel B&B were included -treatment (in a proper hospital phew!) was on Tue - 7 hours (very boring !) and 4000 grafts later -job done (anaesthetic injections really hurt!)but the actual transplant was pain free ! - I slept like a baby that night which I was dreading a sleepless night .......next day was back to the hospital for final check over and aftercare explained then taxi to airport - JOB DONE - so glad I went for it aftercare is straight forward .....a few head aches and having to sleep with neck cushion - really itchy ! but now day 9 and all is good.
If and when the grafts take hold - I reckon I will be well pleased - the downside Is I will have to wait 6-12 mths to see the results fully
But transplant has got to be the way - if you can afford it but for £2000 (paid what was quoted) I will have a full head of hair again cant wait !
Will let you know results & hope this may help some of you out there and thinking of going abroad
