HI All,

I've been for a consultation with Dr Rodgers in England and he has stated that i'm just at that point where he will operate. He quoted me around £3000 for 1500 grafts all at the front half of my head. I've been on the big 3 for 5 years now and i feel my sides are very slowly balding again.

Here is a pic so you get to see my situation, it's not a good one though,

The sides have gaps in and ideally i want more thickness at the front. Dr Rodgers has advised me to leave the thin patch at the back of my head.

What do you think...i'm not sure if i should go to America and get it done? still an option as i have the cash, but i was impressed by Rodgers and it would be cheaper....mmm decisions decisions !!!

Can't you try the spironolactone cream, minoxidil foam and dutasteride?

It's good to see you about Petchsky....

I havn't heard anything about Dr. Roger's , but I looked at his website and I wasn't really that impressed with the gallery pictures. He doesn't seem to have the artistry of Doctor's like Armani, Rassman, Hasson, and Epstein among others.

How old are you?

Dr Rogers is the best in the UK. Search in this forum an you will find all good reports.

My loss is similar and I got a similar quote. I am waiting to be stable on finasteride though before going for op

Hey Oni, nice to see your still around! Since i have been gone minoxidil foam seems to have come out of nowhere, may consider using it, but i'm not interested in spironolactone or dutasteride. Personally i don't think they could add much to what i have and the only way for me to bridge the next step is a hair transplant.

I'm 26 years old, and Dr R asvised me not to get any grafts in my thin patch at the back of my head because i only have so many grafts and it's best to use them at the front. I agreed with him, but he did say it was my choice and at a later date i can always get the back seen too.

Basically i was impressed by Dr R, he seemed very sincere and likes to take a cautious approach. The photos on his website are not that great i agree, but he has more which he showed me on his laptop that were of a very good quality. I think DR R undersells himself sometimes and was quite a shy character, but in my mind, undoubtbly the best the UK has to offer.

Rogers is the best the UK has, BUT
he's not in the same league as some of the US and Canadian surgeons and he only does very small procedures for some reason, in short although he's not a butcher like the likes of Norton or Nobel etc he's still years behind in terms of giving you the best results.

just do what YOU want Dr Rogers is no sales man, he put me off in fact yet im totally happy as he never fill me with any faith in his pre sales patter. I pushed to have the OP and it was nohing to worry other than the shaved bit on the scalp which is down to grade 0 bit of a pain in *** and two days uncomfort and thats about it in total. 1 to 2 week of work and no one the wiser.
ask ask many more in uk must have been to Dr Rogers.
wish you well

Dr. Rogers hair transplant Idea

Just a question, Have you ever thought of FUE where they extract hair from other parts of your body and put them in the back of your head and in the temples. That way you would have more donor hair to play with. Just an idea I thought I'd share with you. Best of luck.

Hi Pologuy,

I was initially thinking FUE but Dr Rodgers advised that strip would be better for the hairline as he will be able to get a better cosmetic result, and advised me that he is not as skilled at FUE as other American hair transplant docs.

I too am looking for FUE as I don't want a big slice taken from the back of my head. I see Armani has a surgery in LOndon but do they do FUE? If not, Rogers seems the next best thing.

Get on a f*ckin plane!
Dont go UK you will regret it. If you're not prepared to travel dont get a hair transplant.

Not at all.
The strong pound often means that you can get a US or Canadian hair transplant for less than the cost of a UK one.

And as for indulgence if you're worried about the cost of a hair transplant forget it. There is no way around it hair transplant's are expensive. The choice is yours there is no budget hair transplant.

Take it from someone who's been through the experience either be prepared to travel or dont bother getting it done.
Remember a hair transplant is for life try taking shortcuts and you will be wearing a poor result or you will be forced to go abroad to get it fixed.

USA or Canada there is no other choice.

I must say I find your posts here very negative and cynical. Just because you had a bad expreience over here doesn't mean you have to tar the likes of Dr Rogers and everyone else with the same brush. Armani has a branch in London and they emailed me back asking for photos to give a rough assessment. Are they going to be bad also?

I have read many many posts stating that Rogers is very underated and compitent. I will at least go and see him. I can't see getting on a plane to Canada for a consultation, then a long wait and then back on another flight to have the work done as well as hotel fees etc.

I had a few bad experiences here, and to be honest I've never heard of anyone who had a good experience here.
I'm not being awkward I really am offering you the best advice and I wish someone had told me the same. Sorry if the truth is not what you want to hear.
