Hair Wet/gelled Looks Thin, Fine Dried

Hey Guys,

This whole hair loss thing is taking a toll on me and I want to get some opinions before I head to the doctor. I just noticed this last week, but when my head is wet/gelled, it looks thin. When my hair is dry, it looks fine, no signs of thinning. My hair normally isn't this short and I have honestly never paid attention until now. There is no male pattern baldness in my family and I haven't noticed much if any outside of normal shedding.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You have the island forming, the temples are connecting to the middle, I can see it with the dry hair pics as well as the wet ones, it's the inverted Y.

That is a pic after I was moving my hair around to see what was going on there and it was wet/gelled. Here is a pic right out of the shower and a little wet. Yes, I know I have a big double cowlick as shown in this photo.

What am I looking for?

Just trying to get opinions on if I am thinning. I keep getting mixed answers. I know I have a big double cowlick which makes it look like my crown is thinning.

Yeah starting to thin. Just a heads up, if you're trying to remain completely anonymous, one of the pictures you posted that is a video shows your face in the bottom and the city you're in on top. So may want to delete it.

Generic finasteride is cheap. Think a 90 day supply was like $30-40. You would have to take it the rest of your life. Look into the side effects before starting though. There are possible serious side effects involved, but are uncommon.

Thanks for the tips. I updated my pics. I am adding these. First is from 3 years ago and second is from just now. I think the wetness throws me off.

From the original post, picture 3. I think you are starting to diffuse pattern, if we look closely it seems like its the start of an island forming at the front like another poster said.

Hard to say because you've styled the hair.

The best way to take a picture is to expose your scalp as best as you can, parting your hair on sideways away from your frontal zone, temples and hairline.
