Cope as in choosing the best option possible while knowing the option you'd ideally choose is not available. I'm somewhat at odds with my appearance and aware that my Norwood-level does not help the situation, but despite joining this forum and reading through it with interest, I have not come to the stage where I'd think an advanced Norwood level is the end of the world - in no area of life. Nor would I think a full head would resolve all my issues (that are mostly related to my appearance and my rather specific preferences in women), it would just improve my starting position from here, though not as significantly as most here are quite sure it would. Can you explain what you mean by 'copes' ? Personally I'm tired of this word that is used to make people feel bad about improving themselves in anyway. To me it sounds like the words of a man who has given up all hope and wants to bring others down with him.
To me there is nothing wrong with doing something if it makes you feel or look better. You shouldn't be shamed for it. People get hair transplant to look better. People get SMP to look better. People also get muscles and buzz their hair down to look better. If that's coping to you, then fine, give up and have nothing at all going for you.
RE SMP, I completely agree with you. I'm staying positive and hence why I'm feeling more positive about buzzing my hair down as a prelude to getting SMP as I want to get used to seeing my scalp before getting the work done.
