All started around 4 months ago out of nowhere with unbearable itching with minimal dandruff/flaking. The only visual symptom were these yellowish harden sebum grains around fallen hair root. Have been to the dermatologist and treating it as Seborrhoeic dermatitis, but just does not seems to match the symptoms. 4 months and 10 shampoo's later the itching has calmed down significantly, but still losing hair at the same rate lost around 50% overall since it started

The fallen hair still have these harden part on roots and when I remove it the hair root has a white bulb. So im still not sure what my condition is. Any1 else?

some extra info:
- 24m with no family history of hairloss/scalp issues like mine
- I daily shampoo + condition (Malassezia save)
- I don't use any products
- Not feeling stressed and overall just healthy
- Also experience eyebrow loss with similar symptoms

You are maybe lucky that you came here.If its Seborrhoeic dermatitis+telogen DO NOT USE MINOXIDIL.DO NOT USE IT TRUST ME.Is your dad bald,or someone on your mothers side?If they are than its probably your genetics catching up.If thats the case, and you REALLY want to keep your hair, start taking finasteride.Using topicals while having dermatitis will flare your scalp up and will cause insane sheds.

I lose my hair the same way with diffuse thinning! But u visited a dermatologist and she confirmed it’s MBP and prescribed me minoxidil and anti-dandruff shampoo. But I didn’t listen and went on finasteride 1mg/daily with nizoral shampoo once a week and caffeine-containing , saw palmetto , aloe vera extract , tea tree oil ext shampoo once a week. Im on this since 2 month and buzzed my hair , cannot say i got results yet! My scalp is so oily and this literally sucks if i touch my scalp and rub it i lose some hair and all the hair i lose come out with white bulswith a flaky later that’s permanent on my scalp

Seborrheic dermatitis can cause itchy and flaky skin, but its not reason for balding, thats DHT attacking your follicles, you have only one option,Finasteride. When i was losing hair,my Head was extremely itchy, maybe there is explanation, that DHT cause inflammation,so this happens.

Since you buzzed your hair and if you want to keep it that way for a while I would suggest you to not use any shampoo on days when you are not using nizoral.Of course first you need to get rid of dermatitis, but when you get rid of it just wash your head with cold water everyday.Dermatitis and minoxidil will be an atomic bomb on your scalp,I strongly advise you not to use it.Just keep using finasteride and try to get rid of dermatitis.

Thanks for the tip! I buzzed it for once and will grow it long again , it takes time to accept your new look which I’m not ready for yet.
I’m not ready to hip on minoxidil 2x a day yet! So I’m giving finasteride more few months to judge. Do you think dermatitis can be healed ? It literally sucks

It can but the problem is that minoxidil can cause it again pretty easily, since you are putting it on your scalp. Some harsh shampoos can cause it,even water if its bad.Minoxidil has caused way too many inflammations and sheds for me,I also have dermatitis.Im about to switch to oral minoxidil but since its not FDA approved for hairloss im not going to recommend it to you.

Do you suffer from diffuse thinning or what’s your case? Thanks
