I just found this FDA warning letter to the Hairmax people out on the net. http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/s6948c.htm
It looks like they're making lying about regrowing hair. NOW IT"S PROVEN. THIS IS A SURE SCAM! Just think how rich those scam artists got.

This is really sad. $600 for this piece of junk and now this? I was hoping it would work too. Their pics look so convincing.

Not that I have much (if any) faith in shining a torch at my head, I don't think that link really proves it's a scam.

It just seems to state that two of the devices they are advertising are sufficiently different to other device that they sell and therefore need to have separate approval. They also mention that they are not allowed to market the devices as suitable for women as that was not part of the original test.

Don't misunderstand me though, I'm in no way vouching for the combs; I'm fairly sure that covering my head in marmalade or peanut butter would be just as effective as the laser comb :)

hairloss is caused by genetics so the CURE will be via genetics. clinics like this just offer false promises at top dollar prices.

lsrcmbhater I don't think you read the letter at all. There is no indication what-so-ever that the lazer comb is a scam. It just simply says that they were not able to advertise it as a device proven to work in women and that the two different versions were different enough from the original that they had to be approved separately for the market-wich they were not.

The lasercomb is very dubious imo and at that price, it is a scam! :thumbdown2:

I'm not saying the lasercomb is amazing or even works WELL but it HAS been FDA approved to promote hairgrowth so I do have a little faith in it. I have not tried it but im about to start a minoxidil/finasteride regimen. If that doesn't do much I will be buying a lasercomb. It can't hurt and it's only 1 of 3 treatments to be FDA approved for male pattern baldness..So why not give it a try if the Min./finasteride. combo doesn't do it for you? (If you can afford the crazy price that is)

I just bought the lasercomb and I must admit I was quite surprised when I saw it the first time upon delivery. It almost looked like it was second hand and was a toy made from plastic. Did anyone else think the same when they received their lasercomb? I hope I didn't end up getting a fake one from the internet.

the COMB won't do anything... it has far too less power.

the FDA approved the comb as SAFE to use NOT that it will work or promote hairgrowth. That's what hairmax has been trying to get. So I think they are legit just greedy and riding on a wave this rather new laser treatment. The article also proves nothing about it being a scam as has been said. Imo they're just being outrageous and greedy --- but who knows in the future.

I would doubt it Dude, unless the people that bought the unauthorized combs can show some kind of damages. As far as I know on the story, I don't believe that is the case. Sure doesn't help Hairmax's reputation though.

PS - I think the original author's name hints of a little bias, lol.

I dont know why so many people think this. It has been approved to PROMOTE hairgrowth. At first it was approved safe and then later down the line about a year ago it was approved to PROMOTE hairgrowth. This is why I don't understand why so many people label it as a scam.
