Oral Retin-A has been known to cause hair loss. Have you tried applying it topically?

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm from Australia and Amazon hasn't opened it's warehouses here yet. I'll go into the pharmacy today looking something similar. Have you had this type of problem before?

Not exactly but for the worst part of my thinning/shedding I had a lot of pimples and other skin irritations on my scalp. It got better when I started using Nizoral shampoo but never went away. I always figured it was the minoxidil doing it, through more research though I have realized that seborrheic dermatitis and androgentic alopecia are both linked and causative, id est the same underlying cause is behind both and SD exacerbates Androgenetic Alopecia. The sebum secreted by sebaceous glands inflames the skin, contributing to the inflammation process which is begun by DHT, and also contains DHT, thus exacerbating the original follicular response triggered by the DHT. At the same time it's the DHT that is triggering both the inflammation-shortened growth phase-shed cycle which characterizes Androgenetic Alopecia and the increased sebum production which is the root cause of acne/seborrheic dermatitis. Since starting the piractone olamine my scalp has calmed down considerably and is clear and free of pimples and other red spots. I am confident this will result in thicker hairs and less shed.

Just look for a shampoo with 1% piractone olamine. You should also be incorporating either a 2% ketacozonole shampoo or even better ketacozonole cream into your routine. If you can fit in another shampoo Head and Shoulders would also be good.
