Hairy Body VS Finasteride ....Your opinions?

Okay so ive got a question and read some different opinions quickly brought up in other posts and would like someone elses opinions on the subject.

If you were to have a very hairy body (chest, back etc) and began losing hair on your head, im guessing it would be a pretty safe bet that the reason why is because you have high DHT levels, correct? DHT is exactly what finasteride combats, so, would a balding person with a hairy body respond BETTER, since high DHT is probably the cause of baldness, or would they respond not as well because their DHT levels are so high to begin with? Thanks for any opinions.

I dont think your body hair is dependent on your dht levels. I have used propecia and my hair is still the same I havent lost any hairs on my body.

Sorry, but no. A hairy body doesn't mean you have high DHT levels. It just means the hair follicles on your body are androgen-sensitive (and possibly that you have a lot of them in the first place). I, for instance, am going bald and have a pretty hairy back, but my beard is still fairly thin.

My body hair has decreased somewhat since starting finasteride, mainly my chest.

Oh, i was under the impression that high levels of testosterone and DHT caused a hairy body.

Increasing testosterone and DHT can make you hairier, but only if you're genetically programmed for it. Even fairly low levels of test and DHT can make you hairy if the hair follicles are androgen sensitive enough.

So in that case, do you think a person in that situation (hairy body due to androgen sensitivity) would have a better or worse chance of reacting to finasteride by regrowing hair?
