Has Anyone Been Using 15% Minoxidil???

I've been using 5% Minoxidil for 6 months now, I was thinking if increasing the dosage would help grow hair even better as 5% is better than 2% so theoretically 10% would be even better and well 15% .. you all get my point?
Is anyone using a higher dosage of Minoxidil? What were the side effects/difficulties they faced?
Feedback would be much appreciated.

Where did you find a source for this?

Even pure propylene glycol can only dissolve around 7.5% minoxidil so for liquid formulations 7.5% is the max.

This can be temporarily artificially raised by heating but when it cools you will get crystals coming out of solution over time.

A cream at 15% will largely contain undissolved crystals. I think Belgravia does this and they do get good results so who knows.

If the drug companies could have developed a way to make a stronger formulation that made sense they would have.

So you're telling me the brands mintop and tugain which contain 10% minoxidil are useless?
I've seen people say that 10% or even 15% Minoxidil worked better for them as 5% didn't help them at all, I wanted to know if people like these are in majority on this forum

I'd love to know how they did it and if they truly have dissolved that amount of minoxidil in their products.

Are those products lotions/creams? If so you can easily make a cream 50% minoxidil but again most of the minoxidil will not be dissolved in the formulation. It will just be suspended crystals in the cream.

Do you know the inactive ingredient list for those products? I searched but couldn't find.

I use the 15% Minoxidil with Azaleic acid from Murray Ave. Apothecary in lotion form. At that concentration it can only be had in lotion not liquid. Propylene glycol as carrier. It is uniform with no precipitation or crystals. I just reordered some more without the AA. I also have Regenere's 10% minoxidil liquid with finasteride, AA, latanaprost and it does have crystals precipitate out. With what little hair I have on top, the lotion actually serves as a styling gel which I like. After a couple months on the stuff, I thought I was getting some heart palpatations but that has disappeared. No sexual sides that I can attribute to the medication, no eye bags or puffiness. I wish they had this strength available years ago. I think some people that were considered nonresponders to the lower 2 or 5% concentrations were perhaps just highly resistant and the higher dose would help. I think I was one and there have been others on this forum.

That's neat. Here's what they say:

In order to achieve the 15% concentration, a cream or lotion base must be used and minoxidil particles micronized. This results in a rapidly absorbing triple strength minoxidil application. Patient feedback is positive with results being reported as early as two months. The cream may be cosmetically challenging to apply in areas where a significant amount of hair is present, thus it is recommended as a once a day (evening) "spot" treatment for areas that have been slow to respond to other treatment approaches.

I'm always trying to learn new things. Like how they actually accomplish this. Do they list the full ingredients on the product and if so would you mind typing it to post here? It would be educational and may allow an approach to DIY for those of us who like to mix our own compounds. The more info and techniques we have the better.

Thanks.

They don't list the other ingredients on the Rx or label. But, I would call them and say you have some technical questions about the product before you order. Just a heads up, they talk in somewhat of an abrupt manner, but that's typical of most New Yorkers, however stay on it and they will answer your questions. Don't be offended or rude. One thing I would inquire about is there was, in another thread a far better alternative to PG, but I can't recall what it was (maybe someone can chime in here). See if they can use that also. Hope this helps. Oh, also for me, it took six months to see results. Before, on the back of my head, there were just a few vellus hairs that you couldn't even grab with fingertips now there are actually strands, 1/4"+ that you can readily grab and tug. Results may vary.

I've posted many times about alternatives to propylene glycol. Maybe that's what you mean? I dunno.

Anyway dipropylene glycol is slightly better. But 1,3-propanediol is enormously better. Can be bought from lotioncrafter cheap.

I may order some of that minoxidil cream just to play with and try to figure out.

Yes, those were the alternatives. Thanks for reposting that. If you inquire to MAApgh about using them as instead of PG, let us know what they say.

MinoxidilKing sells 15% but i have no idea if its legit, comes in a nice glass bottle and ships to US though.

Been meaning to ask if anyone's ever tried them but my account only just got the ability to post so this thread was lucky timing i guess.

If you got regrowth in temples with 5% then lost it over the last 3 years. What would 15% minoxidil do?

1. Again "regrowth"
2. 99,9% nothing because hairs are dead or minoxidil addicted
3. no clue man, chances 50/50

I used 15% minoxidil for 2 years. It did nothing to regrow hair. I've been on Costco 5% minoxidil just because it's cheap and may be helping keep the hair that I have.

I contacted Murray Avenue Apothecary about using the above alternatives to propylene glycol but they stated they will not use them their formulations. Nothing stated adversely about the other carriers, rather they have no interest in pursuing changing what sells anyway. Just letting everyone know about that particular resource.

I used Murray for years until now. There quality has gone to the toilet, and their formula turns into water in cold weather.

I'm sticking to Promox, they do a much better job.

Promox only sells in the United States though.

For people looking for a cheaper brand of Minoxidil, which does come with Aezalic Acid, and Retinol,
use Xandrox (from Canada). It goes up to 15%.

That said, I'm really happy with Promox (Regenere, their website).

Medical Wellness Center is good, but unfortunately you can only get their scripts at Murray's Acotherapy,
and they suck when it's cold in Pittsburg.

Mate can't I buy the Azelaic acid powder and mix with Minoxdil 5% ? It will be cheaper yes but will it be as effective? I'm using kirkland minoxidil 5% atm and as you may know it has no Dht blockers, I'm thinking of purchasing the azelaic acid 15% and mixing it with Minoxdil and later might also add Ru58841 if i get no results with AA alone. All I wanna know is how well or not well did azelaic acid was for you.

Aezalic acid only gave me side effects (ED). So, I quit taking it. I really didn't like it, and I don't
do well with either Aezalic acid, or Retinol for that matter.

Has anyone been able to order minoxidil 15% recently?

I was a loyal user of MinoxidilMax and placed an order 6 months ago but since then they have gone unresponsive.

I'm tempted to try MinoxidilKing or MinoxidilLaboratory but I can't find any info online that supports their products are legit. I've been a Minoxidil 15% user for 14+ years now.

Yes, I have used that.

I also had the same issue with MinoxidilMax. Are you from the United States?
