Also, a DR. Zontos was at one time their premier FUE surgeon, but he left them some time ago now. A Dr. ******** also left them and so did PeterMac.

What did you hear about them johnyd473?

Who's Dr Zontos, gillenator? If I understood well DHI is not FUE method and they perform DHI since their very beginnings.

Back in 2003, Dr. Zontos (formerly with DHI) was being promoted on HairLossHelp extensively for FUE techniques along with several other FUE surgeons who are big financial sponsors of that community. I always knew of DHI and Mr. Giotis for years before FUE technology began proliferating the world. And by the way, Dr. Ray Woods whom I refer to as the "grandfather of FUE", is the only surgeon I know who has performed FUE exclusively. I believe the same goes for his sister, Dr. Angela Campbell.

When Dr. ******** quit working for Dr. Cole, he went over to Greece and worked for DHI in FUE methods for a short time. He also left DHI at approximately the same time that PeterMac and some others did. You may remember that PeterMac was formerly one of the forum moderators at HairlossHelp before he started in a sales position at DHI.

Or maybe he's back with them if it's the same one. And if I was wrong, just know that was information I received first hand from another doctor who worked there at the same time.

But we are all capable of making mistakes and I'll be the first to admit my own imperfections.

The bottom line? I truly wish you the best with Dr. Zontos because he is talented and you should get a good result.

DHI , Greece , Athens , mr. Zontos

Hello dudes,

I got a private email from one of you guys so it reminded me that
there are still persons out there who intend to visit DHI.
So I 'd like to share with you my experience.
I'm 30 years old , norwood 5.
I went to DHI and made one session in the back of my head.
We put 3500 hair and it costed 6000 euro.
They said that 3500 hair should be enough to cover nicely the back
of my head.

The team was friendly and mr. Zontos seems to be a serious person
with confidence about his skills.

He worked on my head mainly but there was also another surgeon
whose name I don't recall. They changed seats every time mr. Zontos
took his cigar break.

The process lasted for 8 hours.
It was pretty comfortable ( at some time I took a nap... )
I felt very small amounts of pain , only when they had to inject
me with the painkiller.Overall , you feel no pain at all and you feel
very relaxed.

It is a good idea , prior the surgery , to have an allergy test to the
painkiller they use , just to make sure nothing will happen to you.

I had to be really careful when sleeping , not to touch the recepient area.
I sprayed this area every half an hour.
You don't have to do that at nights but I did it anyway.
I had to sleep and wake up every ...half an hour to spray it.

Several days after the surgery , the recepient area had a swell and
red color ( the red color dissappeared almost completely after a month .)
But now , even three months afterwards , you could still see a very
light red coloring. It's hard to see though.Perhaps using Regaine has
something to do with it.

Now , after about three months , almost all of the newly placed hair
has fallen.According to schedule , I should witness regroth at the end
of December. The whole regroth process should end around May 2007.

I wish I had more to say...Right now , I'm in the same place I was prior
to surgery.I'm waiting for the new hair to grow up ( I hope they do... )

I have two photos ( one right after the surgeon , and another about
two weeks after where you could see all the newly placed hair ).
From this last photo , you could tell , that even if all hair grows up ,
the recepient area will only have about 1/3 or even 1/4 of the density
that other normal hair have...So , don't expect to look as you used
to look before your hair start falling , unless you are willing to spend
a LOT of money...

Also , to avoid shock loss , they left an about 2-3 mm border around
the existing hair. They said , that they place the new hair in such a way,
that when grow up , they will cover this small empty border...

If you have money to spend , you could take another session to increase
density...It will only cost you another 5000-6000 euro...

So , it does cost a lot of money.I just hope the result will be pretty nice too...

I could share these photos with you I just don't know how.
If you like , describe me the way...

I hope this helps a bit some of you guys...

I wish you the best
