Has Anyone Here Gotten Smp To Conceal Balding?

I want to know if there's anyone here who got SMP and regularly shaves his head.
I'm looking into it as I'm not a candidate for hair transplant.

I'm not totally slick, but even shaved, it looks like I don't have hair in the NW4 region while my forelock s strong. Grown out a little, there are thin, miniaturized hair up to the NW2 area.

Basically, if I could have a shaved head look rather than a stupid patch of black in the middle of my head, with no visible hairline upto NW4, I could pull it off.

@razzmatazz91

let see your hair man

if you got a decent forelock you sound like the ideal candidate

the only real problem with smp is dealing with the hairline, which is my main f*****g hairloss is. if thats still somewhat intact go for it

also i suggest you keep it buzzed very short not shaved. shaved looks stupid and only for guys nw6 plus

Yeah, my hair is like this guy here... maybe just a little thinner at the temples.
Although I will get out in the sun and post some pics in the coming week.

Keeping it buzzed will make hair and the tattoos stand out, no?
I thought a shaved to the skin "style" may make it undetectable. Another thing I'm worried about is with temporary SMP, does it all just fade away, or does it bleed into a disgusting bluish color? Or worse, does it depend on the "patient's" body?

I'm too busy to take a couple of pictures, and yet not busy enough to browse this Forum.

as long as you keep it very short buzzed i think its look ok. and as long as you have plenty of hair still there of course.

its just my personal preference

not sure on the details of temp smp, youd have to look into it

I will.
What do you mean "plenty of hair"?

When I'm in dark(ish) places, like indoors with low lighting, I look like a fullhead, albeit NW2.
But when I'm out in the sun.... ho boy! my temple hair is so miniaturised that it's invisible!

like the guy above. he isnt a cue bald yet. still has plenty of hair. decent forelock still.

all this guy needs is too buzz his hair a bit shorter and fill in the temples

Almost exactly what I want to do.
Difference is I'm skeptical about buzzing as opposed to shaving.... Gotta google search some pics and see results.

Also, this guys hair is diffusing in NW4 pattern... while mine is NW6 with retrograde. Still, I think the look isn't that hard to achieve on the crown... it''s all about that hairline.

What do you think of this SMP job: http://www.hairestorationetwork.com/eve/188602-mens-ink-smp-shaved-effect-Norwood-6-a.html

Yeah, pics posted by the Clinic Owner, but still, the guy seemed to have some hair on his head to begin with...

I’m glad you asked that question I’m currently using toppik for just my bald spot and I keep my hair short like textured crew cut and was wondering if SMP might work for me instead of using concealer everyday.

i don't think SMP works for NW6 as you can clearly see the shine but if you still have fuzz i can't see why not, as long as you get it lightly done and don't go for a rediculous straight hairline

I actually had 3000 grafts Neograft procedure for front and hairline so I look like I have a full head of hair now except my bald spot in the back/vertex so I was wondering if it would work there with SMP instead of toppik every day?

i've seen pictures of people who have done this (and also SMP'd a strip scar) and it looks pretty good

Thanks Cue Bald for your replies as you can see in my attached photos I want to SMP the bald spot shown. My concern is that it may look flat with the surrounding hair around it? Do you think it will work in my case? I have been using toppik to cover it up and it has been working well just if it rains and it does here in Hawaii I’m screwed lol. I’d love to do another FUE procedure but I can’t afford it, I barely was able to get the first one that set me back $12,500 bucks. I appreciate the feedback. We don’t have SMP clinics here yet in Hawaii I gotta look around.

I don't think that's going to work with your hair being longer around the bald spot, it would be too obvious from certain angles given the difference in hair depth.

Unless you buzzed it down to a zero then I don't think SMP would be viable. Maybe saving up for future transplant might be an option and use concealers until then?

Thanks Scottio for your reply, I’m gonna save up and head to Turkey for my second one if I ever do to fill the crown my only concern is that my donor area still looks good for now but may be too patchy or sparse after another FUE session so gotta wait and see.

SMP in my opinion is helpful if you're a diffuse thinner. if you apply it between the hairs it can give a thickening affect like toppik. But I would never get it done. I would be to worried about it fading colors, which I have seen on some videos. I knew this guy who did SMP to the front of his head. at first he just did his hair line and it looked pretty decent. Then he went and did his whole head and it was obvious. But it is also more obvious to people like us on the hair loss forums. Many of the girls and other workers did not notice. At least none of them stated it. But when he did his whole head, it did not look like a shave head. It is a lot of ink and it did not have the same color as a shaved head. My only advice would be to see it for yourself in person. whatever clinic you go to ask them if you can see a few people who had the smp done. Then from their make the decision. Smp in person and in pictures are 2 different things

I got similar hairloss to you. Just save up and get yourself to Turkey, SMP only really works if you have a darker complexion it would look very obvious on your scalp.

Women like to touch stubble. If you got "stubble" on your head, they'll try to touch it, but it will be smooth.

For most guys, it will be a huge fail. Maybe there are some super-alphas out there who'll know how to handle it, but then again, they probably wouldn't get SMP.
