Have any of you had a problem with propecia??????

Just found out I'm going bald recently and I'm only 21 so I'd like to keep my hair but heard of the side effects to this drug and wanna know all I can about it before I start taking it, have any of you had a bad experience with this ?

It made my semen watery, which is a little weird, but not a big deal.

Also, it can cause your hair to shed before actually working and showing positive results.

For me, possibly more watery semen. But I'm not sure as I have been on finasteride for nearly five years, and couldn't say how watery or not it was before!

How did you just find out you were going bald? Did you see a doctor and get a diagnosis that you have androgenic alopecia? As opposed to some other form of hair thinning?

No I haven't seen a doctor yet, but I honestly had no idea until someone told me I had a bald spot on the back of my head (crown) my hair was long at that point so I just shaved it this was about a month ago

There are plenty of guys your age and younger who have taken finasteride with no problems but my experience has been really sh*tty. If it is only on your crown you may get some results with just min. I personally would not touch the stuff at 21.

Seems like a lot of people say they don't get sides until they quit, after which they get hit hard. Did you taper off or go cold turkey?

I tapered over about a 3-week period. That is not long enough tho. There are some resources that cite that finasteride exits your system in about a week but the enzymatic action is about 30 days. So, tapering over 3 weeks is just like quitting cold turkey. If I was going to do it again, I would taper down over about a 6 month period, adjusting my dose all the way down to 1/8 a pill and then spacing the days out until I took about 1/8 of the pill once a week for a month or two.

well i thought i didnt have sides with finasteride but after quiting i noticed that my dick erection is much more stiff. so it was affecting my erectile after all and i did realize it only after quitting.Also for me it didnt work and in fact it made my hair thiner with all this shedding.It works for some people maybe it will work for you you just have to try and find out. I know people want to hear only good stuff for this pill but well i am just stating my experience.

Almost 4 months and random stings in my prostate. I think its supposed to do that, so not really a side effect. Muscles take longer to recover after workouts and aren't as dense. No loss in strength or size. Hair > muscle soreness.

Been on it 3 years. Watery / less ejaculate is the only lasting side effect I have, which isn't even an annoyance, just a thing to note. I had achy testicles for a few days shortly after I started, and some initial changes in my libido (both positive and negative), but everything leveled out after a month.

If my trade-off for a full head of hair at the age of 32 is slightly watery ejaculate, I'll take that any day of the week. Especially considering I would have seriously considered donating a kidney to get my hair back 3 years ago!

How bald were u when u started? And did it bring back a lot of hair in that 4 months ?
