yes, this is a very real possibility, it is not as you would think as a major contrast tatoo in the scalp. it is called micropigmentation and it works very well when it is done RIGHT, it is a process where they choose from 100's of different pigments that are just SLIGHTLY different than your own skin color shooting for the color of your freashly shaven "horseshoe" area. although the process is very sublte, a little bit goes a long way. tey a google search for scalp micropigmentation, there are quite a few copanies doing it now, believe it or not quite a few celeberties have done this with sucess. i think it could look good if you are very sublte about it, use the right pigment for you, and dont give yourself a herman munster hair line :freaked2: from what i understand they dont even really give you a hair line, it is very smooth difference. where it helps out is the ring on the back of your head. so if you like the shaved head thing but hate the horseshoe pattern give it a try. but expect to pay $500-$1000.

Stupid idea.

You need to do a hell of a lot more research or you might RUIN your life, consider that.

I know of people who have tattooed there scalp and because of the oily nature of the scalp the tattoo has not only changed colour from brown to dark blue, but the colour has moved. He has had to have laser remmoval which has guess what made him lose more hair where he had it done. Just do a search on hairloss forums for a guy called `DJ`.

There is a big diffirence in tattooing or micropigmenting your face like some women do with `permanent make up` than to doing it to your scalp and to your hairline......

Maybe there is something new in the area of tatoos, but every tatoo I see that is older than 10 years has started to lose its original color and is shifting to the "blue gray" color of tatoos that is inveriably seen in tatoos on the elderly WWII guys. I doubt color would stay the same over the years. And, as said, if/when your hair loss progresses, you're screwed, as new tatoos wouldnt match.

could it be Mel Gibson did one of those ?
by the way I heard it's not permanent, it fades after 5-8 years

Yes, micropigmentation can be done and can look VERY good if you like the shaved head look, also it does not turn green like regular tats, it just fades after 3-5 years, beats the moon head and horseshoe pattern.
