Hi everyone, dont know if any of you will remember me, Ive not been of the forums for a while.

I had been on different meds for a total of 13 years (I think) with varying successand had pretty much stopped worrying about hairloss.

The past year I had to go off meds due to medical reasons and have had some substancial loss.

I was wondering if there had been any developments in treatments while ive been away? I guess probably not lol as there never seemed to be before but thought Id ask anyway and yes I know im being lazy and not searching all the threads myself

No. I don't think there's been much development in this particular area. But people are so desperate that they are actually experimenting with tons of medications after lots and lots of research.
There are people on these forums trying Setipiprant, Fevipiprant, Cyproterone Acetate, Estradiol, Spironolactone, Oral Minoxidil, Flutamide, Enzalutamide, Darolutamide, RU58841, Microneedling, and even things like Castor Oil.
There are a lot of people who've had success with their regimen. Like there's this one guy named BridgeBurn, he has this extremely aggressive regimen including Dutasteride, CPA, Estradiol, Spironolactone, Oral Minoxidil, Ketoconazole, Diane 35 and what not, and his success story is the best one I've ever seen.
My own regimen is Bicalutamide 50mg oral daily, and it's been a success for me. Though my condition wasn't so bad in the very first place.
I don't know how many of these you've tried, and how many of these existed 13 years ago, but that's pretty much everything I've seen here.

Bridge hasn't had the best I've seen but its definitely up there, proper anti androgens are great for hair but at a cost of worse sides as you know yourself. To OP, you could try an anti androgen if it doesn't interfere with your medical issue as it's shown time and time again to be the most effective ( Although the riskiest ) treatment option available in 2018

Cheers for the replies. It seems the same old story then as in not much in the way of progress.

I had been on finasteride for 13 years which didnt stop the loss but slowed it down dramatically. A couple of years later I added minoxidil and this stopped the loss for a good 8 years or so.

Slowly I started to losed ground on finasteride and minoxidil so I added dutasteride 3x a week this gave me significant regrowth and I was more than happy hence not being here for a while.

Unfotunately I had to stop all meds and lost hair again and thats how come Im back here.

FYI I never had any sides on any of the meds I took

Why did you stop the meds? Trying for children?

No I actually had kids while on meds with no issues, Unfortunately I caught malaria so had to stop all other treatments while being treated for that.

You would probably regrow all your hair. Expect some mild muscle loss and decreased sex drive.

Theres a good chance he'd regrow some hair but not everyone gets sides you know. If he expects sides he will more than likely get them. Placebo effect plays a role for sure.
