starting finasteride without minoxidil is fine. 1mg per day is typical for hair loss. you still have lots of hair that finasteride can save.

Most likely you'll just keep the hair you have for much longer with finasteride. there is a chance that finasteride will thicken up what you currently have.

it's possible to regrow that spot if you have very recently lost it or if there is actually hair there but it doesn't cosmetically do anything.

minoxidil stimulates hair follicles.

you'll lose what hair you gained or kept if you stop either of these treatments.

nobody knows what effects finasteride or dutasteride will have on you; we just know that on lots of other people it has saved a lot of hair, regrown in some and caused unpleasant side effects in others.

i take finasteride in the morning but it shouldn't matter when u take it and it won't save your minoxidil dependant hairs.
and dutasteride will most likely do the same as finasteride except a bit stronger (including more side effects) but it's hard to tell unless u try.
both finasteride and dutasteride are drugs and when taking drugs, there is always a risk.

Drinking is fine while on finasteride. Smoking is fine too, but smoking may have an effect on hairloss. If you want the best results, stop smoking.

If those are 5mg pills , get a pill cutter. It will work. Don't cut too many at a time because I've heard they can potentially lose their potency if they are left to sit for weeks or months after being cut.
