You might just be a maintainer. A lot of people are like that. Or a slight regrower. In which case it might take a year to notice that, if you do. You should've seen some of the miniaturized hairs grow longer n stronger by now.

But keep going. Too many ppl f*** around n quit n regret it later

Yeah the study's show a significant percentage maintain and that would be fine with me.

Hi guys.
Quick recap - started applying minoxidil last July (2018) had AMAZING results within 3 months. Then started to shed again and its never stopped since...

So today I have been on finasteride1.25mg for 3 months. (Still applying minoxidil twice a day)
I've seen no results what so ever. My hair has gotten worse since I started taking this damn stuff to the point I'm having to use concealers.
I'm still shedding lots of hairs every day and it doesn't seem to be getting any better...
My hairline is getting worse on both sides and I'm thinking all over my scalp and it looks awful :'(
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is Finasteride not working for me?
I really don't know what else to do, its depressing the sh*t out of me so much.
Any advice/comments appreciated
use estradiol, drop all kinds of dutasteride finasterides all this sh*t! The only thing that will help you is estradiol. In women, it is produced 10 times more than in men. Therefore, they have such hairline and long chic hair. In men, testosterone, it does not give for hair growth, it is intended for muscles and not for the beauty of skin and hair. Estradiol works for skin and hair. Testosterone works for strength and muscles. In order for it to become estradiol it needs to be metabolized. Unfortunately, most of this metabolism is 90% There are no men. Therefore, men grow bald and lose their hairline. Buy estradiol, take 0.5-1 ml per day. You will see the results. I use gel. In men, estradiol is present but it falls catastrophically with age because the main hormone testosterone falls. Unfortunately, testosterone does not have the ability to preserve hair. Do not use testosterone patches or gels. There may be no aromatization in estradiol. There is no necessary enzyme. Therefore, use estradiol either in tablets or in gels.

Do not listen to this bro science nonsense. Yeah estradiol is arguably a helpful hormone for hair, but if you drop finasteride you will lose a hell of a lot more hair, I don't care how much estradiol you add.

I agree. Stick with finasteride for at least a year.

don’t inhibit 5a! it should work! If you need hair, inhibit testosterone but add estradiol. Or take estradiol without inhibiting testosterone. Who inhibits 5a stupid!

Seriously man, my hair has gotten so much worse in the last 3 weeks. I'm having miniturised and thick hairs shedding now. My hair looks so sh*t and weak. It's never ever been like this before ever since I started taking finasteride. It's completely destroying my hair. Depression is really hitting me now. I think all these stories about "give it time" are bullshit, I honestly dont see my hair recovering back to what it was last year.
People have had insane results after 3 months. I've not noticed any thickening or any regrowth. Just more and more shedding.

I've seen stories of people quitting finasteride and going on duta. Has anyone else done this?

Do you have any symptoms of oily skin, burning scalp, extra body hair or burning scalp since taking finasteride?

Stupid to think finasteride has ruined your hair. I'm sure it was trash before it, and I'm sure you're young, so your male pattern baldness is stronger than most. You still have 30-40% dht in your system and now you have 12%ish higher test as well. You're probably just sensitive to androgens. Short of going full tranny, you might end up bald n have not much choice. There are ppl like that.

It's minoxidil IMHO. There is no need to use that yet until you know for a fact that you are a responder to finasteride.

I had scalp itch before I started minoxidil. When I started minoxidl the scalp itch went and I had amazing regrowth. 12 months down the line my hair has shed like crazy and the scalp itch has come back. I'd say I have more hairs growing around my eyebrows and on my back.

I was on minoxidil to begin with. I had amazing regrowth from minoxidil. Then I started shedding again like mad. That's why I have jumped on finasteride now, but it has just seemed to speed up the balding process

My hair looked absolutely nothing like it does now compared to last year... I have photos on my old phone but the screen has smashed and I cant access them.

Despite of what oldnbald said, I wouldn't be surprised if finasteride is doing more damage than good. Same thing happened to me, but I seemed to have every symptom of reflex hyperandrogenicity. I began aggressive shedding just 2 weeks after starting finasteride and 11 months on (9 months off the drug) my symptoms still haven't stopped and it destroyed my hair too. I'm 31 and had very little thinning at the crown. Now I have a receding hairline and diffuse all over.

I dont get it man. I'm seriously thinking of jumping on dutasteride asap. Seen stories of people saying they wish they would have done the switch sooner. Guests that's my last option, then if that doesn't work I'll be looking at hair systems. Cant bare the fact of being bald :/

This is not the fault of the Min or the finasteride, it’s the result of male pattern baldness progression.

Min causes hair that is viable to grow in thicker, it does not halt or reverse the progress of male pattern baldness. The hair growing out of weakened follicles may have looked better, but it was still on its way out; once the follicles miniaturized they could no longer support it and it fell out. Because the hairs were thicker the loss appeared much more dramatic.

For many, finasteride can prevent this from occurring if taken early enough. In your case, it was likely too late to stop it. It doesn’t mean you’re not a responder.

Even if you were to switch to Duta, it’s just as likely to make things even worse as it is to help. At a minimum you will have to accept a massive shed on top of what you’ve seen thus far and will be like resetting the clock on the same cycle of misery you feel now. Give finasteride more time and you will know definitively what action to take. Save the Duta for your last stand.

Stick with it. Your hair goes through cycles and after reasearch it seems the best benefits come 1-2 even three years after. Your hair has less dht so it takes time to get maximum benefits. So if it's been thinning three years it's not out of question to take three years to regain it's strength.
