Hey there ! I'd like to tell u my story
. Im 19 years old and had a great hair until age 18 when I've started to notice a significant hair loss . At age 19 I've decided to start taking Propecia and since then for almost 6 months i have been taking 0.5mg of Propecia each day .
The results are wonderful ! My hair became more dense to my understanding and to my friend's eyes , and i feel I'm one of the blessed that didn't get any sides.
But , there's an issue that I haven't managed to understand yet:
When I'm passing my hand through my hair (it's a bit long now) I can see like 7-9 hairs on my hand , and it's a bit disturbing , I'm not in the beginning stage and I'm not supposed to experience shedding , so what the hell? Does it mean the treatment is failing ?
And another issue that im struggling with:
I'm able to get an erection and maintain a fine libido, but not as I used to have .. My sexual function is fine but I'm still afraid I might be damaging myself ... Help on those 2 topics ? (Sorry for the language English is not my native )

About the shedding at 6months, it is actually very normal for those on 1mg finasteride to experience shedding within the first 6 months. Honestly, there have been reports of people of their hair shedding even after a year. Sometimes there is an occasional shed which seems to be normal. Just keep an eye out and monitor your hair, I'm sure its just a shed and those hairs will grow back within a couple months. As for the erection/libido issue, many people seem to report lowered libido and it is a very possible side effect of the drug, but you just have to see if you are fine with that. Sometimes people get their libido back while on the drug but it varies from person to person. My libido has also been reduced since I got on finasteride but I decided that for me its worth it to have hair with a slightly reduced libido.

Actually I'm taking half a dose , so it's kinda weird.. And yea I agree with you regarding the libido.. In your opinion, what's the acceptable level the libido ? Because having hair is worth a lot more than many things in my life and libidos one of them ...

.5mg and 1mg have same affect, but you say your hair is more thick from finasteride, if i was you, i am not concerned about this.
