i have thick hair except on my crown area which is visibly thinner. i would think this is a possible sign of male pattern baldness.

an obvious spot can be seen

the area inside the orange circle has less hair.

however my hairline is still a nice straight line with thick volume. no sign of receding whatsoever. which i would think is not consistent with typical male pattern baldness cases.

therefore, does
no receding hairline = not male pattern baldness?

my appointment with the specialist is 3 months away. i'm very eager to know roughly whether my condition is consistent with male pattern baldness or not before my appointment. thank you.

additional notes
i was given away when i was a baby so i have no knowledge of my family history with male pattern baldness.

It doesn't look like male pattern baldness to me.

I'm not sure that its hairloss at all. It may just be that your hair whorl pattern just has a dot of scalp that is collaterally exposed due purely to the way your hair lays on your head.

My dad claims he lost his hair initially from the crown. Whether he just cannot remember the hairline going is another matter.

My friend started losing his hair like that. His hairline didn't start receding until a few years later.
