Help please!

Hi,

After a good few months of reading this sight I have finally succumbed and decided to register.

I started using Revivogen September last year and it worked extremely well with a fair amount of growth on the hairline and general thickening. Then I had a serious shed and wimped out. I started reading this forum and discovered that this is a good sign?!? So, after a lot of hesitation, I have decided to start my battle against hair loss again. Well I am sure you can see my regimen is not going to set the world alight! However it does seem to be giving my hair some improvement although the last two days, I believe that I am starting to shed again. :freaked2:

Anyway, my purpose for registering was for some advice. I am a Norwood 2 and am thinning quite significantly at the front. Now I realise that the general consensus is to go onto Propecia but I have had two fairly big operations in the last year where I was on various medications with bad side affects. I have read some of the users of Propecia have some fairly substantial side affects and would prefer to look at Propecia as a second option. So I was wondering whether someone could suggest an addition(s) to my regimen. I was think maybe spironolactone or Minoxidil.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you would rather stay away from Propecia then Minoxidil would be good idea. This is a PROVEN treatment for hairloss. spironolactone is a topical inhibitor of DHT like the Revivogen you use. If you have satisfactory results with the Rev alone then spironolactone might not be necessary.

I see that if one uses minoxidil then you should use it twice a day. However, I have searched the forums and I am confused as to which strength minoxidil I should go for. I see that the 2% solution 70% as effective as the 5% solution. I still have a fair amount of hair at the front, so should I hit it with the max strength (5%) or start slowly with the 2%. Do you know of any places in the UK where I can get a good supply or should I settle with Regaine from Boots?

There a variety of Minoxidil preperations available out there, in different strengths and with extra added ingredients. 5% Minoxidil (Regaine) is a good starting point. I wouldnt bother with the 2% stuff. You can buy Regaine cheap over the internet. You can also buy generic 5% Minoxidil called Kirkland VERY cheap over the internet. Try googling it.

Sorry, I forgot a few things. Is it safe to apply copper peptides and minoxidil together. Also, the same question for the revivogen. If not how long is it advisable to wait.

It's all safe. Probably best to apply revivogen, wait 15 minutes, apply minoxidil wait 15 minutes and then spray your copper peptides on last.

It's all safe. Probably best to apply revivogen, wait 15 minutes, apply minoxidil wait 15 minutes and then spray your copper peptides on last.

Revivogen takes much longer than 15 minutes to dry and will need much longer. I would also personally leave minoxidil for at least an hour before applying anything else.
