Hi all,

Well, about 7 years ago I was on the big 3 with A&M clinics:
- 1/4 tab proscar daily
- 7% monix with RA
- Presol (similar to Nizoral I believe)

I took Proscar for about 1 year everyday then for another year sparingly. At the time I wasn't aware of any side effects that people mention. But I did have a massive panic attack and was a mess for about 3 weeks after starting the program (never put two and two together).

I ended up dropping the proscar (simply didn't want to take tablets everyday) and was extremely happy with the results and continued to use minoxidil every 2nd day 1.5ml x 1 application and found that I maintained my hair for a good 5 years - was very happy.
:punk:

I am now mid 30s in age and in the past 3 months I have noticed that my hair has thinned BIG TIME in the crown and temples (check pics - it almost looks like the minoxidil has burnt all my hairs away!). My hair also feels 'dead' and 'lifeless' :thumbdown2:

I thought I would jump onto it 3 weeks ago and upped the minoxidil - 1ml twice a day with 5% strength (Rogaine) as I ran out of the 7%. I have noticed I have a little bit of a head pain - not an ache, this comes and goes in different spots, not sure if this is related to the minoxidil but seems to happen a few hrs after application.

I have also received a prescription for Procepia 1mg finasteride and my doctor says its fine (he recommended that I get back on it) and to take everything I read on the net with a grain of salt - but to be honest I am SH*TING myself.

So what do you think? Continue the minoxidil twice a day + nizoral and take the procepia?

I've been reading up on aloe vera + green tea + hibiscus as a natural remedy that has been successful also...

It's always going to be the same old story with most doctors and finasteride. Most will read the clinical data from Merck and believe that it is perfectly safe.

Below are some videos that cover the issue of persistent side effects

I assume you have seen the suicide story?

Finasteride causes cell death and atrophy of the prostate

Have you visited Merck's official propecia.com website recently? they have taken the site down and replaced it with a large side effects warning and a link to report adverse side effects to the FDA. I wonder why? oh, maybe it has something to dow the numerous lawsuits that are being held against them for sexually decimating thousands of men.

Merck were allowed to get away with killing over 60,000 people with Vioxx, so i doubt they even care about what they are doing with finasteride.

I was 18 when i took finasteride and had an incredibly healthy sex drive and penile functioning. 2 years since i touched the stuff and now i am completely impotent and penile tissue have undergone devastating changes.

Get back on Finasteride if you want to keep your hair. I am 35, took it for the last 13 years. Never had a single issue and neither will most people (according to scientific studies and not internet hearsay). Saved my hair!

I just posted my first update in the last 11 years:

"Saved [your] hair" from what, pray tell? I don't see any hair loss in your 99' photos. Give me a break...

And it's not "hearsay," if the person complaining about the drug, actually used it himself, as it appears Joe did.

Thanks. I've decided not to take the finasteride.

Keeping with 5% minoxidil twice a day + Nizoral shampoo.

Also going to try natural stimulants: Aloe Vera Gel, Hibiscus Gel and Emu Oil.

Heres hoping...
