Help with awful scalp irritation and soreness

About 3 months back, my scalp suddenly got very itchy and sometimes it got painful. At first, I did not care much and I scratched my scalp too much until it bled. I am losing a lot of hair every night. I can easily find 10-20 strands of hair every morning I wake. This is so distressing. Actually, I was already losing a lot of hair few years back but at least I was not having any scalp irritation/soreness.

I read it from this forum that Nizoral helps with scalp inflammation so I started using Nizoral 2% 2x per weeks for a month already. However, it does not help with the scalp irritation/soreness. My doctor prescribed me with Erythromycin/Eryson tablets as antibiotics and Diprogenta cream but those did not help either. I have completed the course of antibiotic. Could someone please suggest some treatments? The scalp irritation affects my life to the extent that I could not concentrate on doing things. I really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Hey man. I feel your pain.

I have dealt with this scalp soreness for years.

Do you have Male Pattern Baldness?

I use these two products and they seem to help me a bit.

Calosol Oil and Sea Buckthorn Oil.

I get the Sea Buckthorn Oil from here http://floraleads.com/OILSEA.HTM

and I get the Calosol Oil from here http://calosol.com/order_calosol.php

These oils will make your hair look very thin and crappy, so you may want to consider using them at night and washing them out in the morning.

I would also suggest dropping the Nizoral...that is a harsh shampoo with harsh ingredients that, in my case, contributed to my scalp inflammation. IT DID NOT MAKE THINGS BETTER.

I have also been using this shampoo called Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat which I think has also helped with my scalp health. It is a natural shampoo, without harsh additives unlike Nizoral.

Also, I believe that cigarette smoking contributes to the inflammation, so if you smoke you may want to reconsider you addiction.

Good luck man!

Yeah, I think I am having male pattern baldness from the pattern of my balding area. Since when did you experience itchiness and soreness on your scalp? Did you manage to solve the problems with the two products you recommended? Thanks for the help!
