Hello Im 19 years old,

just actually very confused because, i used to lose hair when I was 14 to 17 by like the several hundreds every day due to stress maybe genetics? literally 1000+ hairs were by my bedside, However when i gelled my hair up it seemed straight and thick.

I just don't know if im receeding. Moms side not so good, dad side good hair till late in life.

my hair is thick but im not sure how receeded i am if at all, i know you hear this alot, but ive always had a high forehead since infancy, about 6.5 cm now I think. Actually just a large head to be honest lol

Nowadays since i turned 18 I see less hairs in the shower and hands when i rub, now maybe 8 hairs if i rub my hair vigorously for 3-5mins. before it used to be 75-100.

also have this little widows peak thing, is that where my hairline used to be or could be natural?

erm so dont know what I havent covered so please take a look at my pics. all feedback appreciated, just sometimes hard to tell whats what. been a bit neurotic about this since i was losing hair so young, now stabilized, also brother went bald v young, id say Norwood 5 around 21.

DETAILS OF PHOTOS

PS. all photos with flash, 12mp camera if that makes a difference, bathroom photos under tube light.

no product in hair at time of photos

Hair on sides of head half length of top of head due to previous haircut

sorry for writing so much and so many photos, just wanted to be thorough and explain everything so you dont have to question so much
thanks alot guys

Yes it does look u may be receding, but its hard to tell because no pics of a couple years ago. U are very young in my opinion if it is receding and maybe its not. I would advise u to at least get on finasteride and maybe in future if ur not satisfied with results start applying the rogaine foam along that region.

My hair loss looks similar to yours but to a lesser extent and im 26 goin on 27. I use to have a very low straight hair loss but it has receded a bit so I use the BIG 3, minoxidil (rogaine), finasteride (Propecia) and Nizoral. I am also OCD, many people on these boards think Im crazy for using any treatment at all. But I would rather be safe than sorry!

Its good that u caught it early hair responds to treatment much better in the very early phases, which is what phase u very well could be in.

Please don't start taking finasteride. Your hair looks perfect. You're in the prime of your youth. I wouldn't f*** that up by taking drugs you don't need. If you end up killing your sex drive, you'll never forgive yourself. There's nothing wrong with you as of now. Be happy. :)

I don't know how helpful comparing your present hairline to your thirteen your old self is. I think the important thing is whether the hair on your scalp seems uniformly dense throughout, or does it appear to be less thick at the corners of your hairline, the crown, etc? If you have areas of hair on your scalp that are less dense than the sides and back then that is a tell tale sign of male pattern baldness.

From the photos you've provided your hair appears to be fine. If you notice that you are thinning behind the hairline or at the crown, etc., then you should consider some form of treatment.

yeah its uniformly dense throughout

but to answer your questions, my hair does not seem to be thinning in the crown or vertex even when wet under light i dont see scalp.

and from a birds i view its a round hairline, not horseshore or the 'V' but the kind of 'U'

my query was really just what you guys thought about the hairline not thinning or anything like that

thanks for all the people who posted, greatly appreciated

would just like some more opinions on what you guys thought

thanks alot
