Hi guys,

I am a 25 years old guy and i have been receding since i am 22. my hairline is thinning a bit but it is mostly the temples that are completely destroyed while i still have very thick hair on the top so it makes it look even weirder and i have to comb my way in a strange way to hide this ****.
I have been wondering wether to start treatments or not for the past 3 years. Unfortunately i have quite **** genes and i happen to have a chronic disease for which i need to take quite severe medications (immunosupressive injections). Because of this, i don t want to add propecia i have enough problems to deal with. Because I have miniaturized hair on the temples that are not dead and still quite visible, i want to put the rogaine on these specific areas. I plan to do it once a day at night that way i know i will stick with the treatment and will be able to increse the dose if needed. I have chosen to go for the liquid as i came across too many horror stories about the foam destroying hairlines

My worries:
- Even If i apply it to a specific area on the hairline, will all my hair become dependent on it and will it destroy healthy hairs beyond the hairline / temples area?
- As I am a very lucky guy, I also have some eczema on the forehead and the cheeks, and my skin is ultra sensitive (since i took accutane). Will rogaine make it even more sensitive or increase the eczema? i have tried it on my arm and it seems to be fine

Thanks very much guys, I can t wait to start this hairloss is killing me

Rogaine is a decent treatment for what we currently have available. It is good for regrowing lost hair and promotes maintenance of existing hairs. Unfortunately the androgen DHT will keep miniaturizing the hair follicles if not inhibited, or if the androgen receptors are left without being antagonized. Since you can't take Propecia, there is another option, and it's called RU58841. It's an experimental topical androgen receptor antagonist and can help maintain hair without Finasteride. However, since the treatment is experimental, if you ever decide to use it, you'll be doing so at your own risk.

Yes, this hair loss burden is difficult for many of us. I honestly don't recommend to start Minoxidil unless you at least get on some sort of anti-androgen. If you start Rogaine without an anti-androgen, time will be bought but you'll keep balding. Worst case scenario you go through a massive shed which your hair doesn't recover from very well.

well if i am able to gain 2 to 5 years until i can get a transplant i will already be quite happy to be honest. As i said it s mainly the temples that are affected. I see those miniaturized hair and i can t just wait without doing anything to try to revive them...

Male Pattern Baldness is unpredictable, your crown and mid-scalp can get severely effected all of a sudden. Your temple points may not be the only area prone to balding.

Yeah i know that I have been on forums since 2012 but so far they are not, I'll take care of it when it happens. So far i want to revitalize those weak hairs before they die
