Here we go again - the propecia shed.

Let’s get one thing straight; propecia does not make you shed. The fact of the matter is, you are loosing hair and propecia isn’t doing anything to avoid the condition, and it never will.

I have read countless posts by propecia consumers complaining about the rapid shed while on propecia, funnily enough I have never read a single post of someone ( not referring to the propecia brigade) who has affirmed that the shed stopped and results started to be visible.

Remeber people, Propecia should provide visible results within 3 months. Load of crap.

I think the reason not many trust it is because of the good bad nature of the drug. hair looks good and then a shed, grows back and hair looks good again, then a shed.....

Not all people repsond to it. maybe people who have major sheds that don't recover are non responders.

I have just come out of a shed a few weeks ago and my hair seems to be improving very will indeed. Thank god. But it's been up and down all the time for me.

traxdata, I must say that honestly doubt that the improvements in your hair condition are due to the use of finasteride.

I am aware that my approach to this matter is a bit extreme. But I have worked for a pharmacist for 7 years, seen a lot of FDA approved drugs come and go, and believe me, I know for a fact that both Propecia and Proscar, has a hairloss remedy, are quite simply, scams

How long are you on Propecia? How regularly does shed occur?

As I get from your other posts, you use only finasteride. Is this correct?

Yes, I only use finasteride and nizoral. I have been on finasteride for a year now and I first noticed quite a big shed around months 7,8,9. Then there is a period of thickening and then another shed a few months later. Then it seems to thicken up again. This is what is happening at the moment. I had a hair cut last week and it looks quite good. I did the mirror test and i could not see any scalp which was bloody great. The crown is also intact as well as the top and front hair line.

I just suffer from temple recession at this time. But things have stabilised since I started finasteride. But at the end of the day the f****r does not work so i'm doomed anyway according to Vogs.

re: vogs

What the hell are you talking about? You give no scientific evidence other then, "hey I worked in a pharmacy so I know everything about prescription medicine". Thanks, that's helpful.......
As far as shedding, well they are for real. For about two weeks (after I has been on finasteride for about 1.5 months and minoxidil for about 2 months) I was losing clumps of hair for the first time in my life and that is a fact.

I suppose that this once again proves that pharmacists as well as doctors know very little about male pattern baldness. Vogs have you seen Diddy's results or Act10pakts results, if not I suggest doing a search.

...and the misinformation begins anew.

I am a big fan of open discussion and everyone having a voice, etc. but it is misleading crap like this that leads us to confused newbies, repeated (ad nauseum) threads, and stunted forward progress.

Yawn, since I post this message a lot, I now have a text document of these messages to the forum so I just have to copy and paste the usual stuff.

Ok, seriously, for the 100th time :D , forums on the internet are mainly congregation sites for complaining/problems. People with good results don't surf the internet for help, and forums do not in ANY way represent efficacy or lack of for any drug or treatment.

Remember, male pattern baldness is caused by MANY factors.... DHT related is just one science has found.

LOL, you work for a phamacist! ooooh I am SOOO impressed!

When you have a license AS a phamacist, MAYBE I would listen to you. No, wait, I still wouldn't actually as drug store pharmacists no sh*t about drug research, they only know what is written up by the real scientists doing the work.

Just got my first propecia pack! Was surprise at how expensive the stuff is!

Is there an ideal time of the day to take propecia?

Morning/night?

hmm why would you even take propecia in the first place if you knew it was this big scam?? and why are you suprised at how expesive it is if you work at a freaking pharmacy for 7 years??! lol

haaa I see the propecia brigade decided to mark it's presence.

Only realised what Propecia was all about after having made a little investigation and after having taken the drug.

re:

Give us more about your "investigations" or just admit that you did not get the results that you wanted so of course you rationalize that the drug works for no one and is a scam. No one denies that there are question marks witht he use of finasteride but you making blanket statements with no evidence and no proof is irresponsible and useless.
So you work for a pharmacy and yet you do not even investigate a prescription medication until after you start taking it and yet we should think that your opinions are credible?
