Hey Everyone, Am I Too Late For Rogaine?

Hi. I'm 28 years old. Been suffering (yes, suffering!) from male pattern baldness for the last 7 years or so. I spent 5 years (stupidly) trying to ignore that my hair was thinning and I that my hairline was receding... up until since two years ago I said enough is enough and hopped on finasteride.

My experience with finasteride? Mostly positive. I've had a few sides but nothing considerably worrying for me. I've been able to maintain my hair but the past couple of months I have experienced a considerable shed and my hair looks a lot thinner. It looks almost exactly as when I started using finasteride.

My question is, am I too late for rogaine? Would rogaine be the best option for me at this point?

I was scared to use rogaine just a couple of years ago, but now I have no other choice or my hair will still be getting thinner!

Wet hair under harsh light = aggressive diffuse thinning

Dry hair under harsh light = minimum hairloss visible

Going to the beach or getting out of the pool at this point is constant suffering! I feel too self conscious and I feel things are only getting worst!

In addition to rogaine do you think it's a good idea to switch to dutasteride?

Please help! I'm desperate! What should be my next move to fight this evil demonic force that is baldness?

Nah I would add it in. I don't know how hardcore you wanna go but you could always try dutasteride + RU down the line.

Minoxidil should help thicken up your hair even more but it looks perfect when it is dry. You have thick wavy hair which makes you a great candidate in the future for hair transplantation if you ever need it. Just remember, minoxidil could make it worse before it gets better but also remember minoxidil tends to max out around 2 years but it can still help you maintain if you use it with finasteride.

I am definitely considering fue for the future! I've been saving money for a while now and you bet a big chunk of it will go right to my hair! I don't plan on giving up against hairloss. This will be an ongoing battle for me until I die! I really appreciate your comment because it gives me hope!
What about dutasteride, do you think I should make the switch now or save it for later?

No, don't switch. Use that as a last resort. Dutasteride may work slightly faster but you can get more sides. In the long run, I have read most people don't see too much of a difference after a few years on either of them.
