Am I the only one who's had this reaction with minoxidil 5%? : :dropmouth: :

As I look at my face closer on the mirror, I can see some fine patchy hair growing below my hairline, high on my cheekbone and abnormally low on my temples (on the sides between my eyebrows and hair). I don't really dare shaving them off, but what I am supposed to do if don't want to have my face ending up like Zimmy's?

Wax them off, that way you wont notice much.. Think of the pain as something a women feels while shes on her period :)

I'm beginning to understand women better now...thanks to minoxidil! :p

Still, won't these hair grow thicker if I shave them off? I assume though they are minoxidil-dependent as well.

They might grow back thicker but when you wax them off should last you a month.

lol @ the women bit!

Hey, how long have you been on minoxidil? Does it irritate you or anything? If so, how long did it take of using minoxidil for it to start irritating you?

I was on minoxidil 2% for 10 months before switching to 5% 2 months ago. I can 99% confirm that those new hairs grew within the last 2 months. Why can't they grow on my head instead?

Give it time, I think regrowth kicks in from 2 - 4 months with minoxidil so chill!

If your getting it in other places I suppose it might be a good sign and that you are responding :)

I have the same problem :(

I have been shaving them off though and the little bastards keep coming back. I will prolly have to submit to waxing...........sheesh.

Look at the bright side, at least you know for a fact your body responds to minoxidil and does indeed grow hair from it. You will more than likely start sprouting new ones on top in short order. Some people would probably kill for such a sign.

Dont hate me cause im beautful and hairy! :hairy:

lol.

Ive been on minoxidil 5% about a year and a half and only really had a problem with my eyebrows. Ive had some small hairs grow just under my main eyebrow shape, but there not very noticeable except to myself. I may get electrolysis on them some time, only because im a vain mofo. Ive tried plucking a few but holy sh*t it hurts! I`ll never make it as a motherplucker!

Anybody know any good hair remmoval or waxing stuff?

Shaving them won't make them grow back thicker, that's an old ancient myth. The hair strand isn't alive & nothing is communicated down to the root when it's cut. So you're safe. The myth comes from the fact that it seems stiffer when it first starts to grow back in, but that's only because it's still short, not because it's diameter has increased.

Since it seems it can really grow facial hair that much, I'm thinking about rubbing some to complete my goatie. Why wouldn't it work?

Been doing this for 6 weeks. heh

I got the idea because I noticed I was having to shave more and my hairs were thicker and of course the high cheek bone hair. My goatee is about 80% full, but not full enough for it to look right grown. I basically only do this then a rogue drop of minoxidil runs down from my forhead. I take my finger and run it along my goatee. It is amazing how fast it is filling in.

I had a look at that disussion board Zimmy has a month or 2 ago. Crazy stuff.

Cool its working for you! Ive only done it 4 or 5 times, but im going to start doing it at least once daily. Have you had any pimples from where you apply the minoxidil Cassin? Ive heard thats one problem with doing it.

No problems at all with pimples.

Actually it may be more like 2 months that I have been doing it. Once or twice my face got a little red where I applied it and I just put lotion on. I actually applied it a few time with the sprayer but thought that was a bit much so I stopped.

Like I said though, now I just wipe the run-offs and apply that. As far as being dependent, who cares, my scalp already is. Might as well have a good looking goatee too.

Probably a good idea to start off slowly to make sure it's ok. This could I cause a few extra problems in some people I think.
