are you shampooing it as long as you have hairs in your hand?
or are you just washing it quickly?

i lose ca 200-300 hairs every day. ca 200 from hair washing. thats the average. sometimes its "just" 120. been on finasteride since 2012.

Keto shampoo eod. Otherwise just cold *** water for feasibly long enough to rinse off the dirt.

I do believe in the theory that some are just heavy shedders. Ideally this is easily determined by whether or not the loss is concentrated to areas of the scalp prone to miniaturization. If you’re not losing ground in these areas but your shed to growth rate is having a cosmetic effect then you may have something other than male pattern baldness at play.

Hot water is supposedly bad for your hair just like heavy blow drying. If you’re not so vigorously washing your hair that you’re experiencing pain afterward then any hair coming out was going to shed in or out of the shower.

6 years on finasteride is a reasonable amount of time for male pattern baldness to ‘play catch up.’ Look for the white bulb.

hi

i lost a lot of density over all the years and i receeded at the temples and on the crown.
i had nw0 with the density of a bear.
now i cant make sideparting (as i used to do from 2009-2015). these images let look my hair status way better than it is on the front. everything is minaturizing.
and at the crown i can pull my hair easily out, absolutly no halt

White bulb means what?

White bulb means what?

It means that the hair lost was in telogen. Also that the follicle is likely still big enough to produce another hair albeit possibly smaller and more miniaturized, but only if the hair is miniturizing. No white bulb supposedly means the follicle has shrunken beyond the possibility of producing another hair, or dead.

I'm not a follicle expert but I don't think that's right. Some hairs that fall from my head are so thin they are invisible and have a bulb, while others are really thick and have no bulb. Im sure the thin ones are less likely to grow back bulb or no bulb and my thicker ones should grow back bulb or no bulb.
To OP you have the biggest widows peak I've ever seen! Your hair isn't too bad, it looks pretty decent actually. You would be bald by now if you were losing as many hairs as you claim. If finasteride isn't working for you then you could think about adding other treatments to your regimen?

That was poor advice on my part actually the white bulb is only an indicator of whether or not the hair was lost at the root. A hair with no bulb would suggest breakage. So Andy is correct in that what you actually want to do is look for thinner weaker hairs to compare to the stronger and thicker. Ratio of thicker stronger hairs to thinner and weaker could be considered the ratio of hairs that are likely to keep growing back to those that aren’t. That said any increase in shedding is a sign of something, only some amount of the thicker hairs can be attributed to regular and healthy daily shedding.
