Guys , I am 25 and a NW2.5 diffuse with receding hair line .I was on finasteride for a month ,and had a bad reaction to it and I noticed that my crown got a bit thinner .How bad is it now?Can minoxidil fix it?I had no side effects on finasteride but had severe itching and burning sensations all over my scalp .So will RU do any good ? As I have minor thinning too, I wonder if it can become aggressive thinning eventually?

If you weren't on treatment, yes. But since you are you'll likely maintain if not get good regrowth.

Minor thinning, it seems. Temples?

Temples have receded to around Norwood 2.5. The loss is pretty recent as I was a NW1 about one and a half years ago .I still have lot of thin and see through hairs all along the hair line.

It looks like you caught it in time. And I definitely believe that Minoxidil would probably grow all of it back.

If you have itching, use the foam. Don't use the liquid. It will make it worse, and cause more dandruff.

For me, certain generic Propecia tablets caused me to itch. But usually I stick with topical Finasteride. Much less
itching.

People who are Norwood three or higher (me) usually have less luck. Although some men older, and with a higher
Norwood (in the five area) have been very successful with Finasteride alone.

Thanks for the input k9gatton , I have been using minoxidil all along the hair line for the past 4 weeks .I dont notice any improvement or regrowth and experienced some shedding at the hair line and temple region .So I was hesitant to apply on the crown .Also with all the stress and depression, that I have been going through in my life ,I developed a habit of pulling hair near the crown just to see if I am really losing hair like a hair pull test.I pull atleast 20 -30 hair a day :(

Doesn't seem bad at all. I think everyone's hair parts there, so you can see some scalp

Yeah... I forgot to ask this that I wonder if we should expect to have to use minoxidil or other stronger treatments eventually when we get older?

I used to use minoxidil when I first started treatments but it was a pain in the *** and an overkill for my stage of the game. I believe that people should start with Finasteride and give it a year. If they don't get desirable results with Finasteride then add minoxidil.
