Taken these pics today under natural light to try and capture the thinning area on one side of my hairline, I have a natural carflick here (sp?) i've found it more difficult to style this bit recently as the hairs seem thinner/wispier. What kind of pattern is this where it starts mainly on just one side? The rest of my hair is pretty thick all over. Should I be doing anything other than my normal routine?

Saw palmetto twice a day (started this 2 weeks ago)
Nizoral once a week
Bodybuilding shampoo twice a week
Alpecin four times a week
Cold shower to finish off and hopefully stimulate any blood cells

I'll probably stick around and update this blog every few months with whatever I decide to do.

Looks like you are receding a bit, and I'm guessing (though it's not noticible) thinning on the sides behind the temples. At your age, I wouldn't be overly concerned with it for the simple fact that if it took you until 33 to get to this point, you've got plenty of time before you reach any noticeable level of real baldness, if you get there at all.

I'm 23, and you have twice as much hair as me, easily.

Thanks for the reply, i've sat here looking through some old pics to get a comparison with the most recent. I've found these tonight

2006 has the effect what worries me now, where in bright overhead light on the top right hand temple you can see skin and the outline of a bald head. 7 years on how do they compare?

I see some recession and regardless of age you have lost a little hair I see but you would know better then anyone if you watch it. See a derm and get on some real treatments because your stuff are really just feel good treatments because they make you feel good your doing something when in reality those wont help at all. 2 approved things by FDA propecia and rogaine plenty of threads on those your choice which to use.

you have a thick head of hair with natural receding, which is normal, but if you are shedding a lot of hair a day like over 20 a day and shake your hair on a white piece of paper for 20 seconds and see how many hairs fall out if you have a lot more than 10 or 15 than you are balding.

Looks like normal hair for a 33 year old. Keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse look into starting on propecia and rogaine.
Btw, many guys here will tell you that you're a Norwood 3 and if you don't get on propecia immediately you'll be bald by christmas...ignore them

There are no photos anymore. I can't open them. I found this thread when I was looking for some info about hair loss after 30. So I started to get a receding hairline in my mid 30's and began Finasteride to stop the hairloss. It did stop/slow the process of losing my hair. I have lost no hair at the crown which I think is because of the finasteride being that.
