Hi guys,

Here are a few pictures I took now wondering what you guys think...

I have been on Nizoral for about a year, it is basically my daily shampoo (2%). In my second post I will post some hairline pictures from about 6 months ago. I have tried Propecia about 8 months ago but had Sore Nipple side effects and since have stopped. I do however have a packet here ready incase sh*t gets really bad :(

Hmm, i think your hairline has improved a little.

you're lucky. your hair looks pretty much the same anyway, so it means you are definitly mantaining. I would be overjoyed if my hair looks the same as it does now a year later

Thanks for the input. I too have notice a tiny bit of new growth in front of the hairline I can safely say this is due to Nizoral 2% usage ED for a year. Thanks for your input. I hope to maintain and perhaps get a hair transplant later down the track.

I have very very self-conscious about my recession and avoid going to the beach... or getting my hair wet... :(

Unfortunately this is my attitude lately too. And since it's been such a hot summer here in Australia, i've wanted so badly to just go to the beach with a few friends, have a good time and all that..but yeah, my hair.. :thumbdown2:

I would do yourself a favor and just start taking Propecia now (assuming a low sperm count and or breast cancer does not scare you...)

I looked like that when I was 21, and now at 26 I'm at NW3. It would have been damn cool to stay at where you are at, from now on I'm forever playing catch-up.

Cheers for the input. I've got Propecia on hand. I had to stop one year ago because my nipples were getting sensitive as soon as I started taking it.

:(

You're nowhere near transplant territory man, wake up!

It has receded a bit, a bit more on the right side then the left which isn't bad at all. I dunno why you would even contemplate a transplant at 19 before you've even really tried treating it. You haven't really used propecia and didn't sound like you'd use minoxidil.

Also if you get a transplant at the hairline now and don't use propecia, do you really think you won't lose all the hair behind the hairline in time?

I'd try a low dose of propecia for a while and see how you go. It's nowhere near as bad as you think, if you asked 9/10 people on the street if you were balding I reckon they'd laugh at you.

I'd wait until you actually have some hairloss.

aw often man I really wouldn't worry. For starters ok, before I knew what male pattern baldness was, I would have just thought that some people with a really "unusual" hairline just looked quite cool!

I mean like here the pic someone posted of Anton Yelchin in Terminator Salvation:

anton-yelchin-terminator.jpg

I would have thought that hair looked SO cool! lol

But aaaanywho! My recommendations would be this!

Stay on the finasteride and Nizoral if it's working for you :) - (although 6 times a week for nizoral is quite high so be a tad careful :) )

And try this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

and maybe this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

and this: http://store.coenzyme-a.com/Merchant2/m ... ode=COA001 (probably not essential but it will further regulate and lower your scalp and hair follicle sebum).

From what I can tell, with all that on your side, your hair could be running marathons! rofl :)

Additionally yeah if you want some kind of topical growth stimulant couldn't hurt, Minoxidil or some kind of natural remedy (apparently some essential oils are good at it) might be good, but be wary of the possible sides of Minoxidil.

That's my 2 cents anyway :)

Jake_89 - All the things that Hoppi said will not change a thing if you're losing hair, although it doesn't seems like you lose any hair. What you have is a perfect example for a mature hairline.

Also if you were losing hair and got an hair transplant in those temples then your hair above the temples would just keep receding and then you'd look like an idiot.

It really does sound like you and KrezyGuy are related! You have a mature hair line and it could stay like this for the rest of your life without getting any worse.

And Hoppi, Anton Yelchin is not balding also.

Whilst he isn't in transplant territory he has obviously receded somewhat and there is miniaturization at the temples, it will definitely degrade if he does nothing about it. I'd be much more inclined to catch it now in it's early stages, then wait for 2 years when he can come back and you guys can really say "oh sh*t, you were actually balding!".

Anton Yelchin is balding too, just like you could see in that picture... check the thread update, he has lost a ton of hair now and that's the path this guy will head down if he takes the conservative option and chooses to believe he just has a 'mature hairline'.

I meant to strengthen the hair follicles as well as using finasteride and nizoral (why do all these things have such catchy abbreviations? lol) to lower DHT both systemically and topically :)

Good idea no? :)

For topically use spironolactone Topic, Flutamide or Fluridil

Thanks for the continued input fellas. No I am currently NOT on Propecia since it gave me side effects even at .25 dose! Namely itchy nipples which basically means b**ch TITS in 6 months if I don't get off it! Which sucked!

I had my blood tested 2 times while on the Propecia but none of it showed an increase in Estrogen and some other related thing which I forgot the name of although I still felt itchy nipples and got off it quick fast.

I am currently just using 2 percent Nizoral ED. Will hold off the transplant idea having read what you guys say.

If the follicles fall because they are sensitive to DHT (this condition is male pattern baldness) then you can't strengthen the follicles with vitamins, the only thing you can do to strengthen them is by reducing the DHT level on your scalp and according to today the only FDA approved drug for that is Finasteride. Nizoral was never proven to lower DHT topically, but it worth using because it makes the scalp feels good and makes the hair looks thicker.

I'm starting to use finasteride soon, I already ordered it and I'm not happy at all about that but I have no choice.. Getting gyno and low libido and all those potential side effects freak me out but I don't want to lose my hair and if you also don't want to lose your hair then you should do the same as me (that's if you are really losing your hair). When a topical DHT blocker would get approved by the FDA I'm going to be the first to get it.
