How important is Nizoral for hairloss? I'm ALLERGIC!

I seem to have a bad reaction of a rapid heartbeat, closing throat and just..faintness/dizziness/tingling when I use nizoral. I'm allergic to kenozanole or whatever the main ingredient is,...either that or it's seriously interracting with something that I'm on,...which is proven. Nizoral can unfortunately react with certain meds.

SO :Sigh: I can't really take it. BUT...how important is it...and are there any substitutes? Is T-GEL okay as a substitute for nizoral?

What exactly DOES NIzoral do!??! And why is it considered a part of the "Big 3"??

Um, because they panic & want to get on treatments asap, and come here asking YOU, the better informed for the info.

Why in god's name are the better informed, NOT informing, and instead, asking rhetorical questions!?

It's the most essential part of my regimen. If I had to choose only 1 medication for hairloss that I could use for the rest of my life, it would be nizoral.

Nizoral shampoo isn't going to be the deciding factor whether or not your regimen will yield results, as long as minoxidil and finasteride are involved. If you can't use it you still have a chance at success.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions but I find it difficult to understand why you couldn't spend 20 minutes at some point doing some light reading before putting something on your body as a treatment.

You have to take better care of yourself!

Are you joking? nizoral on its own will do f-all to halt hairloss.

i agree with you guys, but you're also not answering, if there's an effective substitute for Nizoral.

perhaps t gel? or should that be in conjunction with nizoral?

also does it matter if i use the 1% or the 2%?

If you want a topical anti androgen that isn't ketoconazole, I would say spironolactone is your best bet.
Nizoral is effective in slowing down hairloss and thicken the hair, but out of the "big three" it is definitly the weakest.

If you have no issues or side effects with finasteride or minoxidil; either one of them will do just fine in halting your hairloss. If you have a particular bad case of hairloss, you could use both, but normally either one in itself is sufficient to mantain.

If your allergic to keto then definitely STOP using nizoral. T-Gel was actually the shampoo that was used in merk's propecia studies. I don't believe that it has any anti-androgenic properties but it will remove any excess sebum from the scalp.
