How Long Before Noticeable Results From Propecia?

Started daily 1 mg Finasteride (Propecia) about 2 weeks ago, and my hair still seems to be thinning progressively. I don't know if it's relevant but I'm 34 and started overall crown and front-top thinning about a year ago but had just enough hair left that I wasn't recommended for transplant yet. Doctor said I was right on the cusp of the age where I *might* see regrowth at my age in time.

Was wondering how long it took for others to see their hair loss stop and regrow on Propecia.

Its a long road.

My hair seemed to stop thinning within weeks. Some people it can take a year but most seem to take about 3 or 4 months.

If that made sense. : )

You really shouldn't expect any results untill at least 6 months.
Even then you might not get anything.
My doctor told me 12 months was the time it would take for my hairloss to completely stop, and new hair to grow.

Fortunately, I responded well and stopped shedding after 3-4 months and began regrowing after about a year and a half.
But yeah, it takes a while.

Definitely shouldn't see anything positive until three months at the earliest.

I have been on finasteride for a month and obviously no signs. It is frustrating that it takes so long and I look and feel my hair multiple times a day and it is a bit discouraging, but patience is the key I guess.

I didn't see any real improvement for at least a year. The next 6 months showed good progress and made an almost full recovery.

You need to give it time.

When you say cosmetic improvement, do you mean seeing regrowth occur or do you mean not seeing any more hair shedding? Almost 8 months into 1mg finasteride and no changes in shedding or regrowth. I would even be happy if I was one of those people who sees late progress, keeping my fingers crossed.
